It did come to mind.  The game doesn't seem to be too bad.  But, if they're going to re-invent the wheel like this, why not just create an original cast of characters.  It's so different from what it Sonic that it may as well be a new IP.

Looks okay, but, I'm not interested.

Graphics don't look too great and the art design is weird. It seems we have to hope for another 3D Mario on the Wii U if we want to play a decent cartoon platformer.

I enjoyed that video! I don't know why people dislike this type of sonic (its much more appealing to me than the other type).
