Oh yes, please do. FFXII is already a really pretty game. Imagining that in HD... oh my.

And they consider X/X-2 Remaster a success? The same company that deemed Tomb Raider, Hitman and Sleeping Dogs as failures? Are they... starting to get their shit together...?

Actually they said Tomb Raider was fine after the Definitive Edition. But you're right that on last-gen consoles it never met "expectations".

Yes, because they thought the game could do better. It's expected that big games do far more than break even. I don't understand why people get on their case about that.

Yeah I guess it somewhat shows the trend AAA games are taking. Bioshock Infinite sold great but it didn't meet their expectations as well. Games are getting expensive to make.

Yes, but the real issue is that publishers look at things in formulas. All of the games above reviewed well, well received by gaming communities, had wide appeal, and were advertised. They did what they could to get the most out of the game, it was less than they thought they would get. That's why we saw definitive edition for Tomb Raider imo.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I agree with all of that. It was only after the Definitive Edition sold its share that SE said Tomb Raider did indeed meet expectation.

You really want to see Tifa in HD, don't you?

Hope there is a PS3 version. Don't plan to buy a PS4, but I wanted to replay FFXII after I played Xenoblade just because I loved the battle system in Xenoblade so much, and when I played FFXII I despised it. So I'm wondering whether my tastes have changed.

When people stop wanting it. Square always does exactly the opposite their fanbase wants.

- FF XIII

- Don't like Lightning? FF XIII-2 for you

- Still doesn't likes? Ok, take Lightning Returns

- I'm still wondering if they won't simply cancel FF and transform Lightning on a franchise just to piss off people.

Well I'm about 88 hours in to FFX, so with all the trophies, I've probably only got another 10-20 hours to go

Then I'll have to wait a few months for KH II.5 HD remix, but then there will be a nice gap, since it doesn't seem likely that I'll have any modern jRPGs to play...

I would like this, but I'd rather that they got on with FF XV and the "super-secret traditional FF XVI"

Is that really happening?

I definitely wouldn't count on it... Has there been a proper old fashioned high budget jRPG since Lost Odyssey?

Ni no Kuni? I don't know what kind of budget they were working with, but I doubt that Studio Ghibli and Joe Hisaishi came cheaply for Level 5.

Fair play, that does come very close, though you can only control 1 character, which isn't what I call old-fashioned. But it's probably the closest I reckon

I take it you meant a strictly turn-based RPG a la Dragon Quest or FF I to X?

I hope so, I always wanted to play it.
