If the Wii U had as much power (or even closer) to the PS4/XB1 and a few more 3rd party games would you buy it? What is stopping you mainly from buying Wii U.

Doesn't need as much power to me. It needs software that's not named Mario. Once X or Zelda is released i'll purchase one. It has a lot of upcoming titles i'm excited about.
I'm planning on buying a U before a ps4. I have had an xb1 but it was junk so not interested in that platform any more. $199 this fall will get me. Power doesn't matter for the kind of games I want on the U. Heavy graphics games I play on PC already.
Like Wagram said, it's not the power of the console that's stopping me, it's the lack of software that isn't just rehashed Nintendo names. It needs new first party IPs or at least something really new for their classic titles. Third party support would be nice to see too...

No, because I'm not interested in Nintendo's IPs except Mario Kart. And one game doesn't justify the purchase of a console IMO.
Wii U's hardware is just one problem for me. Second is the terrible (for me of course) controller. Third thing is their exclusive line up.
I can still get all of the 3rd party games on the PS4 which would be the same as Wii U's in this scenario, maybe if Wii U would be by a good margin more poweful like PS4 > Xbone, it would have a selling point. But no Nintendo exclusives interest me except for 2D Mario once every couple years and one Mario Kart per generation.
So unless Nintendo drastically changes their software output, it would change from "no way in hell" right now to "most probably not" for me. Not that it really matters, cause I don't think Nintendo will ever go back to the "arms race" nor will gather full or close to full 3rd party support.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!
Nothing is stopping me but not much is enticing me, either. If the Wii U had equal power to the XO/PS4 and got all the same multi-platform games, it would still trail Sony's World Wide Studios in terms of games that appeal to me. Quite honestly, looking at what Microsoft is doing with new studios, it might very well trail the Xbox in that same category.

this thread has been created how many times now?
it depends on what 3rd party support, it's not about the system's power, although that does affect the support it will receive from developers.
whats keeping me from buying it? i dont believe it will get the games i want in the end, at least not enough titles to justify a purchase, and i'm afraid the system will be short lived and replaced by nintendo sooner than most people would like to believe.
i'll play my wait and see game this gen as usual, didnt get my ps3 until 2009 and i'm not gonna jump into next gen so soon either until i get a good clear picture of what it offers.
For one, I have zero interest in nintendo exclusives or nostalgia. Seconds, a nintendo console will never be as power full as ''both'' PS or XB.
