I literally look forward to every new gen knowing that sony will usher in at least 3/4 new brand new franchises. Nintendo seems to feel its ok to have people playing the same franchises for the past 25yrs. Mario, Smash, Zelda, Luigi, Metroid........ rinse and repeat. Think of it, when was the last time (besides wii sports) that nintendo made a new IP?

That right there is the reason I won't buy a WiiU.

The Wonderful 101, less than a year ago.

Yes it's developed by Platinum but Nintendo owns the IP.

You are missing the point. In the PS4s first 24 months on the market we will have Resogun, DriveClub, the order, The witness and Rime. There is a racer, arcade shooter, TPS and adventure game, FPS adebenture game.... all new IPs and these are just the games we know. This is not including third party new IPs like The division, Child of light, kingdom come.....etc. So in 2 years from launch we have at least 10+ new Ips in addition to all the regulars. Thats the problem and if you dont understand that then you probably are working for nintendo and is part of the problem. I am not saying nintendo doesnt ever have one or two new Ips, but the issue is just that, very limited variety in new IPs compared to the competition, so if you are buying a nintendo console you are doing it cause you want to play the regulars......again.

I dunno, lets give it all like 3 more years, if the WiiU doesn't manage to have sold up to 20ml consoles by then, then it means a lot of people probably agre with me.

If it is cheap enough the next time I go for USA I'll buy it.

If the Wii U had as much power (or even closer) to the PS4/XB1 and a few more 3rd party games would you buy it? What is stopping you mainly from buying Wii U.

I won't but it, because I love Playstation exclusvies. If Nintendo get similar exclusives as the Playstation, hell that will make me buy WiiU day one!

Once you entered you won't be the same anymore. A blog about life.

I'm neither interested in mario nor zelda and the direction the xeno-francise is going (seems to be going) under nintendo also pains me. So, hardware is their least problem as far as i'm concerend.

The lack of 3rd party support means I would only buy a Wii U for exclusives, and Nintendo just doesn't have enough exclusives that I want. I expect Smash Bros and Bayonetta 2 will be good, and I'm hoping that Sonic Boom will be well-received, but if those are the only games on the platform that I would really like, then a Wii U purchase only makes sense when I can get it for around $100 or so. Most of the other classic Nintendo franchises I don't mind missing; I was a SEGA kid growing up, so I don't have any nostalgia for Mario or Zelda.

I never contested that point.  You asked a legitimate question in your post, I answered it.  Simple.

Because I prefer the PS exclusives and I would rather support the company whose target audience is more like me when it comes to buying third party games too.

Doesn't need as much power to me. It needs software that's not named Mario. Once X or Zelda is released i'll purchase one. It has a lot of upcoming titles i'm excited about.

This! :)
