I vote Mario Kart 8 for these reasons:

- Beautiful visuals.
- The new tracks and remakes of the old tracks are a blast to race on.
- 2-4 players coop on Grand Prix.
- 60 fps, even when playing two players online.
- Awesome soundtrack.
- Variety of "character and kart part" combos.

However, it does have its cons:

- No option for automatic or manual drifting, similar to MKWii.
- No arena-like stages in battle mode.
- Lack of audio options to turn the music up, or lower the voices and sound effects.
- Birdo, Dry Bones, Dry Bowser, Diddy Kong, King Boo, and others aren't present in the game.
- No option to look up your over-all player statistics such as.. amount of coins collected lifetime, number of races won online, number of weapons used, etc.

Mario Kart DS for sure. The missions, the Battle Mode, the online multiplayer, the incredible tracks, good music... everything's so good,,,

Super Mario Kart is still my favorite due to the items being a second thought to actual racing lines and cornering, and no blue shells..

8 is easily my favorite since the original though.

Double Dash

DD is the best. Having your own personalized items made character selections meaningful. Snaking was the best.

Way too early for me to say. Depending on how online goes for me, it's a toss-up between Wii and 8 for me, with Double Dash a close 3rd.

i've only played 64, Double Dash, Wii and 8.

8 is definitely my favorite.

I haven't played 8 yet, so I'll have to go with Double Dash. Not necessarily for any of its features, more that it came out around the time that I had a lot of friends living nearby to play with. Mario Kart isn't as fun for me when it's just me racing against the clock.

I can't choose an overall winner:
MK64 wins for the battle mode.
MKDS wins for item managment and balance.
MKDD wins for 4players split screen at 60fps.
MK8 wins for handling, track design, online.
