Will sell amazing in NA just like the 360. It will sell good in EU just like 360 but japan is not that good. It might outsell the 360 but its tough. 


Why will it?  I will ask the question consumers will ask:  "The PS4 is stronger, more people have it, and it has a better (And cheaper) online serrvice.  It is better in just about every imaginable way, so why would I get the other one that has a worse track record?

Alot of gamers out there know xbox live is an amazing service compared to psn. Xbox live was better than psn last gen and this gen xbox live got even better. That is more of an opinion than a fact though. It can be better for some but not for others. Also not cheaper if you know where to shop. I get my xbox live gold ranging from $30 - $40 a year. 

It is clearly not better in every single way. It does have more power, that is an advantage. But power alone doesn't make a console better than the other. Some gamers out there dont care about pixels/resolution. Games are fun even if they aren't in 1080p. I want my console to do more than pretty games. This is 2014 after all so consoles should do more than just play games. 

No  sh*t sherlock.  So whatever lets just pretend the online services are even for arguments sake.  Then you say that power isn't everything.  Ok so what else does the Xbox One have.  

-Bluetooth?  This is a big deal as it allows for a ton of cheap and varied accessories. 

-Sixaxis?

-Lightbar?

-Trackpad?

-Small?

-Upgradable internal drive?

-Free games that actually have value?

-Recharge while playing without being nickel and dimed to fix a controller that is 2 generations behind.

Nope to all of those.  The only thing you can mention is more rumble.  So really how would you sell me on the Xbox One?  I am litterally asking for your sales pitch.

No they aren't no matter how much you deny it. Xbox live is miles better IMO. 

Sixaxis was DOA. Just another gimmick that never worked out good. How many games had this? Plus it was a gimmick stolen from a console back in the 90's....just in case if you didn't knew. 

Lightbar.....that is so old school. 

Trackpad.....another gimmick that has been done before.

Xbox one has external harddrive support. 

Xbox one also has free games. 

Controller that is 2 gens behind? Troll much? 

Let me tell you something. Xbox one offers most of those except for a trackpad. It uses infrared lights to track the controller instead of a lightbar. The xbox controller has some great feel and is very responsive and it uses wifi direct. It also comes with a dual band wifi signal....the only next gen console to have one. It works great with wifi. It is also getting free games each month. Its getting better games now since its a rental service now. 1st party studios are there so exclusive games are coming. Xbox live is equipped with 300,000lk servers for your online games so you are backed up. Kinect is just an option if you want those extra features. You can connect up to 16TB of external HDD for your needs. (up to 2) There is much more to xbox than what you think but you probably dont see it or dont want to see it. Anyways have a great day! Hey that dual band wifi will be great with that internet speed you don't have.  Hell 1 Gbps is still magical to 90% of us.  Also have fun halling around your external HDD's.  That'll add to the nice space-killer the Xbox One already is...

At this point I give up.  I asked you to give me your sales pitch, and you responded with more excuses like being recited by a robot.  All I wanted was for you to say... Pretend to be a Best Buy rep and give me the sales pitch.  But it is incredibly clear you do not have one.

Change why.  PS4 its still a superiot proiduct, and X1 just lost the only thing that separated it from the PS4.  PS4 will be selling more now later and especialy in the holidays, price parity for an inferior product will not change that.

A sub PS4 priced X1 with kinetic mayyyybe could have put up a hell of a fight.  But clearly ms is not willing to eat such losses.

There is absolutly nothing at all that indicates X1 might sale anywhere near PS4 anytime soon.  No price advantage like 360 had, no Halo5 this year. 

I feel like Halo 5 could have been a big chance for the X1, but instead they are practically asking to get steam rolled next year by about a dozen first party games from Sony.

I don't expect much from XOne in terms of sales in Europe. I'll be worried if XOne wouldn't take off in America.

PS4 is much powerful, Sony always has better exclusives, doesn't give up their home consoles after 3-4 years, invest in risky projects which are not certain to be profitable (ex: Journey, Heavy Rain, Folklore, etc...)

People are smart, they choose the right console, the better choice ;)

Like many people say, competition is always good. But we can't put ourselves in people's mind and alter their needs. And the way things are looking, we're going to similar numbers of PS2 > XB > GCN numbers again. Makes me happy/sad, but like I said this is an industry and no one can change if things turn out that way again.



...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

They said XB1 would dominate N.America even being more expensive.

The XB1 in Europe already selling close to the new price of the kinect less SKU coming in June. So Europeans must be stupid because suddenly they are going to pay the same for less of a console.

Halo (without Bungie) is an unknown, but looking back when you break down the sales Halo is as American as apple pie.

People putting faith in price cuts and Halo to suddenly boost sales in Europe are possibly in for a big disappointment.

They are so happy with the sales they are completely redoing the way the sell and market the console. Kinect was the key in the All-in-one concept, strip it away and now we have a console with no special features that is weaker than the comp and has less exclusive offerings. I mean timed DLC for Call of Duty can only go so far.

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Seems my thread is alive and kicking, so I updated the numbers from that particular week (since they've been updated) and clarified a couple of things in my OP. Mainly that releasing in all of Europe or having announced a price cut have had/will have very little impact. So many people commenting on that in this thread...

Pretty sure apple pie is actually from the UK originally. So Halo should do well there :P

What? Central Europeans don't know their consoles? I can speak for the Scandinavian countries and at least over here people are very conscious of which console is which, in spite of Sony's dominance. It's the age of the interwebs, young people at least know their shit. Maybe some people in their fifties and sixties get these things mixed up. C 'mon..
