And why do you think they ignore xbox and buy playstation? They are loyal to japan and enemies of us? The neutrality people are saying regards nationalism that favor sony and nintendo in japan or ms in usa. The only appliable bias you can put is that ww people recognize japanese brand as durable and quality  made against breakable american products. I assure you in brazil altough a lot of people would like to live in usa for products we preffer japanese cars and eletronics than american because of quality.


You could read my post above yours... This has nothing to do with a product being American or Japanese. Europe doesn't care about that. It's all about the perception of a brand. Many Europeans just don't know Xbox, and that has more to do with Microsoft not marketing it than making a bad product

I think a lot of people know about xbox. They just despise it after 360, RROD, and no support since 2011...

Which is why the PS3 took over the Xbox 360 in total hardware sales over in Europe.

If Microsoft didn't have the cheaper price advantage, & the year & a half headstart over in Europe, then there would be NO WAY that the Xbox 360 would have the lead over PS3, & the same goes for everywhere else worldwide.

Yeah, you do. There weren't that many posts to begin with. So saying "except the first and second posts" is saying "I'm not changing the subject, except when I am." I'm sick of YOU deflecting the point. I can't take your argument seriously anymore, because of all the deflecting. I realize I haven't offered anything against the argument in the last several posts, but that's because I already answered this argument, and can't really take this seriously anymore.

well more than half of europe still can't buy one.
So I'd blame it on that.
But i can't actually see it doing much better numbers after the whole of europe can buy one.

The first post was that I wasn't suprised about X1s fortune and contained no argument.  The second post said I knew the Wii U would be a stinker.  There was no argument thus my reason for excluding the two posts.  If there was no argument in those posts I can not have changed the subject by ignoring them because they do not contain anything relating to the subject which is this argument you keep avoiding.  

Everything I posted after that I have been rather clear on the argument.  Marketing is not what is causing the X1 or Wii U to fail.

Even if you ad the 10-20% extra that these countries could add, it would still be selling 5k.

I agree some people are going to far in this thread, but the ratio has gone from 2:1 last gen to 8:1 this gen, so dont undersell it as European Mindset either. 


The only reason the 360 sold what it did in Europe was thanks to price ( and ps3 being so expensive) and an earlier release. Xbox 1 price is higher now so people buy their first option again, the Playstation. Combine that with far more agressive marketing ( and almost no X1 marketing) and you get this result


Bold - and the fact that it could be modded easily and cheaply to play pirated games.

Underlined - and most importantly, combine that with a significantly superior product, the fact you like to ignore.

 

Also, as to why people in Europe prefer PS over Xbox - don't forget that a big chunk of Europe didn't get Live until November 2010. MS was selling a console without online and was threatening to ban people trying to work around it and commit the awful crime of playing online. On the other hand you had Playstation with free online working in every single country... And still X360 sold better than XO is selling, cause all in all it was closer to PS3 than XO is to the PS4 in quality. And the market responds accordingly.



Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
