So,for future references, when you guys say "mainland" you mean europe without islands?

That's what people say when they want to exclude the UK. Although technically I should also exclude Ireland so substract an extra 37 units or so ;p

why? does VGC count ireland with UK together?  havnt they heard that ireland is free since the 1920th?

it says UK, not GB so ireland shouldnt be in the numbers.

Its exclusives are looking good i think they will push it to relevance in the next 12 months+ price parity. It won't compete with eps4 in europe but it will start doing much better

Nah, all I meant is that Ireland is not mainland Europe. Though people in the UK tend to say "mainland Europe" just to refer to the rest of Europe.

If you could please point out where I have contradicted myself I would be very grateful.

My assertion is that marketing does not fix the issues of the Wii U and the X1.  Them being unattractive to their previous audience is what is causing them to not sell.  I don't understand how pointing out how Microsoft is spending tons of money with slightly less than 30k weekly in US last NPD doesn't do anything to but drive my point home not contradict it.  I believe that constitutes an argument.  One that you have yet to address.

You keep changing your argument though.

No I do not.  If need be you can search through all of my posts on the matter.  With the exception of the first and second post I keep to the argument that marketing isn't fixing the problems of X1 and Wiii U. You can stop deflecting and answer the point that I have made or not. Your decision. But there has been no flaw in my logic nor changing of my argument.  If there were you would be able to point it out instead of just deflecting.

Why do some people infer that European customers are idiots? They have an equal or higher level of technical literacy than American consumers, and I don't buy the excuse that it's a marketing issue. With the internet sites and social media, it's virtually impossible for a Euro gamer not to know the Xb1 exists. It's simply the fact that ps4 offers a more compact and powerful unit for a similar price, and has a better reputation for quality and support.

Hell the ps2 had far better support than Xbox og and 360 combined in Europe.

360 did okay in Europe for the sole reasons of early release and low price, neither of which are true for gen8. Add in rrod, bad specs/mulitiplats, a gigantic console with a fatass power brick, and you have a recipe for a brutal beating this gen.

Microsoft is going to have to start  gaining a bigger preasence at Gamescom every year.  I think that bringing a big game like Quantum Break there is just the first step of many, they need to understand that the European market is much different than the US market, and will want games tailored specifically towards them.

Playstation is a cult in europe. believe me im an expert

Doubt it people in mainland Europe probably want a Kinectless X1 more then all the other reason.  Games are pretty high all over mainland Europe so you want to save as much money as possible on the console so that you can actual afford some games.

If it was just waiting for kinectless xbone then UK would be low too.

Well check my earlier comment I aready said that the X-Box division never really did great in mainland Europe costing more due to the Kinect sure didn't help.

I realize that UK sales are not the point here, but the price cut that some people mention will prove to be irrelevant, not only in mainland Europe, but also in the UK.
Because you can already buy an X1 with Kinect for GBP 349, the same price as PS4.
And these guys here:
http://www.base.com/buy/product/xbox-one-console-with-kinect-premium-edition-with-fifa-14-download-code/dgc-7uv-00036.htm

...even toss in free FIFA code (I guess this is day one overstock still available).

And they are still selling worse than PS4.

I think X1 has no chance in Europe as a whole. Perhaps a tiny sliver of chance in the UK, but mainland is lost forever.
