Forums - Gaming - Watch Dogs PS4 vs. Xbox One Comparison Video

It's not a game that really interests me too much and will probably pick up only when incredibly cheap but I honestly can't see anything to care about in the differences there.

To be honest I'd rather the ps4 version matched the xbone res and they used the extra power to enhance the visuals rather than a small res upgrade and a more consistent frame rate. If they had managed 1080p on ps4 that would be different as my living room tv is 1080p and my 720p projector gives its best image with a downscaled 1080p native resolution image. On my projector a upscaled 720p/768p/900p image to 1080p then reduced to 720p of my projector creates visual artifacts.

The screenshots doesn't really do the game justice, from the video it does look quite a bit better than I originally thought.

Wtf this look like shit compared to the video they posted before that was supposed to be the pc version but ended up being the ps4 version

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Switch the PS4 and XO labels and I belive people would still say the PS4 is better in some minor way.

For I can see, both are as close as we can get even with such a small resolution delta.

Study that pic for a while (like 5-10 sec or so).

Notice lack of AO on X1? Sorry, but those 2 version cannot be confused, at least for anyone with fully functioning eyes.

Do you even know what ambient oclusion is and how it works or how you implement it?

Sorry, I can't noticed any geometric difference between then, only shadows appears lower resolution on XOne if that make you happy.

Seems that you don't have any clue what AO is. Here's a hint - http://international.download.nvidia.com/webassets/en_US/shared/images/guides/sc2-ao/sc2-ao-tychus.gif

Study pics again, get back to me once you figure out the answer.

better shadows on PS4 (though perhaps just different TV setting?) otherwise closer than I thought.
Obviously also slightly sharper due to 180p more, but still not a huge jump.

Overall though I'm still pretty disappointed with the graphics.

It's 108p, not 180p! xP But yeah, it's a pretty damn small difference (tad over 29%. For reference, 720p to 1080p would be 125%).

The shadows aren't a TV issue though. The colours are pretty much identical on both, and if it was simply a deeper crushing of the blacks then all the shadows would become more prominent, not just some. It's still a rather minor difference though.

oh thanks, forgot this was the weird 792p resolution.

Looks pretty decent for a cross-platform game. Could have been so much better if it was developed exclusively next-gen, but ah well.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

Cross gen game, so its never going to be a world beater in visuals. It does look pretty though!

It's simple red SUVs are better than white SUVs so PS4 version wins.

But seriously there is a notable difference, but I could not tell that visual quality was much different. So it's a case of different be not necessarily better. And anyway I was watching at 720p which is below the native res of the game so I can't even properly compare.

Ok, you don't have to show the first image you get when typing "ambiente occlusion" on Google.

AO is becaming a wildcard when we talk about multplatforms, alas:

"I don't know what is different between version X and Y, but as I like platform X better the version Y is surely missing AO, whether it makes the IQ better or not."
