i think the OP is lying to himself. why ignore the pricecut that xone is getting, that is going to help at least have it catch up to Wii U, maybe by the end of the year.

I got a big box of nope for ya. Next Nintendo on or before holidays 2017 and other replacements coming 2018 as neither will let Nintendo get more than a year head start. Last gen was an oddity in many ways including longer lifespans due to later peaks in sales. One of the reasons MSony used nearly off the shelf items that are very much inline with PC development was specifically so they could upgrade at a better pace with lower costs. This is why Sony is saying they have profitable hardware less than a year into its cycle. I'm sure with MS cutting out Kinect, their hardware will be profitable this year too. |
I disagree. The XOne is still losing money on hardware and Sony's financial trouble almost guarantee a longer generation. There won't be new hardware from Nintendo until the Wii U is fully maxed out. Nintendo also spent hundreds of millions building new buildings. They all have nothing to gain by bringing new consoles early especially if it profitable.

I didn't ignore the XOne pricecut. I just don't think it will move that much more hardware over the PS4 with the same price.
I don't think games like Bayonetta 2, X, or Hyrule Warriors honestly will do much of anything for hardware.
DKC is one of Nintendo's bigger franchises and they didn't move the Wii U at all.
Mario Kart will give and boost and so will Smash, but I think Nintendo's bordering on running out of bullets after that.

ok thats fair, but what does that have to do with Wii U? Just cause it might not move more hardware than PS4 doesnt mean it still cant catch up to and possibly pass Wii u

not to mention there is a big gap of anything big in between those games

More games that connot be bought anywhere else at a better price point this year for Wii U. I'm not saying it's in stone Wii U will do better than X1, but it is definitely offering more. That is something to consider.

The Wii U is just starting its domination. With the numbers the PS4 is putting up, it would hold the Wii U off in the long run.

I think those games will sell. I'm going to get those games myself.

I have consider it and IMHO it will be a short reprieve for the system. Forget PS4 its already more than one mil ahead of U in a fraction of the time. Xone still hasnt hit its stride. new price point and it hasnt even begun to release any big guns. IMHO Halo is going to be bigger than any one game Wii U can put out. and thats just Halo, not to mention all the 3rd party games that WONT be on Wii U.
