It will take everyone getting exactly what they want, before they realize they did not actually need or want it.

I know what I want. I played Skyrim and I don't want that. I played Xenoblade and I wouldn't mind that. I really hope this game isn't a case of giving us what we think we want.

In Xenoblade Chronicles, the world was big, but there were enemies everywhere you stepped so it wasn't big empty nothingness like in the Zelda U trailer. You didn't need a horse in that game and it was fun traveling by foot. I hope that this game will litter hyrule with that many enemies to fight and let me not use the horse and still have fun. And I seriously hope there's fast travel.

Well we had the same problem with Ocarina right? Without Epona, we were left flipping and rolling across hyrule.

They will need warps and like...oooh an airplane or something to keep it fast.

Yeah. Hyrule Field was terrible in OoT. And in TP. All the hub worlds are weak. I enjoyed sailing WW, but that's probably because I always get my fast travel as fast as I can. I definitely don't want that kind of feeling back in this game. The land is so flat. It's beautiful, but the feild is uninteresting. Hopefully in the final release, there will be a lot more enemies like in SS. SS's ground areas are phenominal until you have to start backtracking.

I actually enjoy the combat in Zelda games more than the puzzles. That's probably blasphemy, but WW did it really well. I want more of that.

I'd love another flying mount though. The loftwing idea would have been awesome in a game like this. Like near the last third of the game, you get a Loftwing, or a dragon, or something and you can fly literally anywhere you like.

I like WW, but sometimes that boat travel gets old. Yes, its an open world, but open only to various islands. I guess there is always ways people like myself can complain. Just got to look the other way sometimes and enjoy it.

I agree. I don't want this game to feel the same, but the horse is literally exactly like the boat, only you can't dive for treasure. I wouldn't mind the boat returning in a smaller ocean though like 1/5 the size of Wind Waker's.

I don't want to have to look the other way. I want to just play the game and have it be phenominal.

From the e3 video, to the way the guy was choosing his words describing the 'open' world (like figuring out how to get somewhere, and enter an area from any direction) I strongly have a feeling this is going to be a corridored map, not an actual open world ala Elder Scrolls or GTA. Watch the demo again and see.

It won't be. He literally said that it won't be segmented and that if you could see it, you could travel there seamlessly.

Great thread! Nice summary of what we know so far. Good to know that it is all in the games engine and in game assets too, it's beautiful. Now we can put to rest that this link is a female. Late 2015 is too damn long to wait for this game.... That's very dissapointing, but what can we do?

Basically what I was about to say...so I'll let you say it for me.

Great thread!!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I dont get that impression while watching the demo. I will hold onto my belief until I see gameplay that proves otherwise. I would like to believe its completely open, but he didnt dispel my doubts. Also when did he (the translator) say 'seamless'.

In the video Link rides off screen. And back on screen from the side onto a corridor like scene (the bridge) doesnt strike me as open world

I can wait for this game, it looks absolutely fantastic. I love the art style its very beautiful. Its a long wait but its going to be worth it.
