Now I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Maybe it can help to increase the popularity of the Zelda franchise in Japan (maybe...). But this game still looks interesting.

I feel like this game will be at least trying to seem canon (even if it technically isn't) so I doubt that...I think he means someone from the Zelda universe but I don't know who it could be alluding to. This game seems to be using repeating characters and new characters only so I doubt that any character that has only been in one game would show up (Sorry Groose). 

Do these games usually have different campaigns for each character or do different characters play through the same story?

While not my personal fave character being the poster boy for the Musou series, seeing Zhao Yun vs Link would be awesome.

Also Im more hyped for this then I was ALBW.

So for the June-December period I guess

Wii Sports Club (retail version)
Hyrule Warriors
Bayonetta 2
Xeno U
Super Smash Bros. U

Maybe something like Yarn Yoshi gets in this year after all or Mario Party U pops up out of nowhere. Mario Party U for December in Japan seems like a very Nintendo-ish move.

Story is split by the factions usually theese days. Each faction has a story with one or more selectable characters for each stage in that factions campaign.
It used to have individual character stories back in the PS2 days iirc, when the roster was smaller however so we could see that.

I'm guessing Mario Party U with NFC support, Yarn Yoshi for 2015 and maybe something like Animal Crossing also for next year.
