I'm not sure about Japan, but the game got a boost on Amazon after the Gamestop demo. I also saw someone's impressions on IGN, they loved it.

So, just want to point how much I love that Ganondorf design. It reminds me my childhood and all those nightmares fighting Ganon and his dark castle.
