It may well be true. E3 will decide it I suppose, but just looking at their track history, this would be the fastest new IP they've ever made and there hasn't been too much released about the title yet. It does have a 2014 release down on a few websites, so I presume they must be aiming for release this year. Any word on the development of the TV series that's meant to accompany it?

XB1 was $449 for March effectively, with MASSIVE marketing, Titanfall (a brand new AAA $60 title) AND Kinect, and it still lost NPD by a substantial margin. $399 for the bare console is just going to look weak by contrast.

$349 will happen by November 15th. Bank on it. If they're serious, a game will come with that.

Yeah that may have a small impact, I can see it mainly going off which has the better exclusives. X1 with Halo and Gears will be a hard beat...

That could very well be, and I'd bet on $349 by the time they release as well.

Halo 2 probably won't move the needle much, but a real Gears game and Halo 5 might do the trick. Will have to wait and see.
