Full picture list of Marvel Captain Marvels... ( I think).    (Well... 616 Captain Marvels.

Seems like the character (position?) has already been through the ringer then, in terms of race, gender, and even species. Interesting.

Around the Network

*Agents of Shield spoilerish stuff*

Isn't one of the theories that Skye will end up possibly being Ms. Marvel? Because we know there is something special about her and then she was injected with Kree blood that healed her. Although she doesn't really resemble Carol Danvers in any other way so it seems doubtful.

Yeah.  Funny thing is the original Captain Marvell was a Alien military Captain called Mar-Vell.

So it would be like there were  a long line of Captain Bob Jones,  including his kids Tim Jones and Lisa Jones.

People are talking about trying to steal popularity by changing the character, but in reality it's been the opposite.   Marvel  has played musical chairs with the role to desperatly try and make the character popular.

Since it's sort of embarrising that the best known Captain Marvel isn't owned by Marvel comics.

Monica Ramebeau (The black one) was probably the most successful, leading the avengers and being seen as a great character and getting some good press... but she wasn't Billy Bastion level popular.

The one right after, Genis-vell also had quite a lot of fans, but his powers became to powerful.

Also, keeping Carol Danves as Ms Marvel just seems to much like Jean Grey being an adult and her code name being "Marvel Girl".  Which is why Jean Grey is like the only X-man to not have a code name.

(Well and Emma Frost, who doesn't have a proper code name because she was white queen, which is a positional role.)

Look at Kasz! Bringing that comic knowledge, well done sir!
