My point is, why would you expect VC4 at all... :P |
Because the games are good and did enough to profit on PSP. There was also merchandise as the IP expanded into comics and anime.

It's outselling it because people want one more than they want an X1 :P
People can downplay it with x y z reason all they like, the end result remains the same.

Sony on their own take a while to start hitting their stride with games, but when they do MS is in trouble. This gen is starting off no different than the 360 did on Microsofts part. Their dependence on outside companies will hurt them when the exclusives start drying up and first party begs to be expanded. This is exactly what happened to the 360 after the first three years. Microsoft cares about the first impresson, but when its all said and done and they amass a mountain of third party exclusives when the time to fend for themselves happens they are at a loss.

I absolutely loved the PS3 (Best 7th gen console for me) and I jumped at a chance to buy a PS4 when it dropped. Microsoft has never really interested me. Halo was always kinda fun at parties, but other than that, they never did it for me. I have no interest in gears, did not want to pay for online, and don't play call of duty. This gen though, their output has been better than Sony's. There are many more games that I would really like to play on their console. Dead Rising 3, Forza, Titanfall, PVZ Garden Warfare, Peggle 2. They all really intrest me. These gameswouldn't have forced me to buy an Xbox One, but they did make me a tad jealous. Today I saw the trailer for Sunset Overdrive, and I tell you, this might be the game to push me over the edge. It's everything I want in a game. An original, off the wall story, awesome asthetic, fun looking gameplay. It looks like an orgasm on a blu ray disc. On Sony's side we have...Last of Us remake? :/ In short, Kudos to Microsoft. They really went crazy at the start of the generation with the DRM thing, but dammit, I really want to play the games that they are making. It is a gaint nutpunch to the effort that Sony has put out so far. And the PS4's future is still pretty bare from what I've seen. |
There's more games than TLOU on PS4, and to be fair TLOU Remake >>>>> Garden Warfare + Peggle 2, and do you care about Titanfall when you don't play COD?

Typical, sweeping things that are clearly doing something for the platform under the rug. Cover it up for it doesn't exist. Titanfall didn't help sell any X1's....let's forget how its becoming the best selling X1 game of the gen because it isn't a exclusive. It doesn't represent at all what X1 has to offer against PS4. lol please this mentality astounds me.....to think that non-exclusives (while not available on the rival) have 0 impact and place in discussion. Killer Instinct is a 1st party IP, not indie, and is highly adopted being F2P. Excellent fighters are hard to come by (considering its lack of content at launch made its meta suffer), exclusive one is even more of a gem. Resogun is a indie game and most definately not a system seller. Context. Resogun has about the same pull as Geometry Wars in 2005. A great launch indie game, but don't seriously think people bought the hardware to play that. |
I see hypocrisy when you say Titanfall helped so much and completely throw Infamous under the rug. Despite the PS4 selling more then the X1 with 1 less week with Infamous in March.
Not only that but if Titanfall is exclusive then so is MLB the show. But I do not consider either to be exclusive.

The end result is that its not games. People can downplay that with x y z reasons also and the end result is still the same.

Do you have evidence of this? Do you have research that proves no one is buying a PS4 for Killzone, infamous, or one of its brand exclusives like FF14? How about its indies? And people buying it for its future games, like The Order and Uncharted? What about its superior multi-plats, do you have proof no one is buying a PS4 because they'd rather have the better experience of those games?
Because if you don't, that's a claim you are making purely on assumptions. Making factual statements based on assumptions makes you look a little silly ^^;

| sales2099 said: Ya because the 11+ million gamers who currently bought a X1/PS4 are buying everything you listed. I learned long ago thats lists are pointless and have no context. Some games are worth more then others. Indies aren't system sellers. Indies do not have the same weight as a AAA title or a 1st party IP. Allow me to trim the fat and give you a real list that prospective gamers will look at: Uncharted 4 (not even dated yet), The Order 1886, Infamous, Killzone, Driveclub Only 2 of those games are out now. So you now can at least understand why some people think PS4's library isn't quite as robust as its hardware sales. |
That is YOUR list of system sellers. Not everyone has the same taste of games like you my friend, so I list everything because some games like you said is worth more than others. I forgot RIME, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and Unannounced Game by Santa Monica Studio.
Anyways, I don't speak for everyone, but I'm into franchises, and the indies is more than just a bonus, a real nice bonus.

"On Sony's side we have...Last of Us remake? :/"
But, but..... The Last of Us was the best game ever..........according to Sony fans at least!
