It looks fun, and made me laugh a few times. BUT, I do wonder about repetitiveness and weather or not the story will keep me interested. Love the respawns though!

I agree with a lot of what you said here but I don't see how really much of any of this applies to Sunset Overdrive? It was clear as day Insomniac seemed lost on where to go with Resistance and FUSE but everything we've seen today looks as laser focused on what this game is as the CGI unveil was.

In fact the gameplay looks about as faithful to a CG trailer as I've ever seen. I think Insomniac is all hands on deck on this one and honestly I think this is the most excited to release a game I've ever seen this studio.

All you have to do is looke at the pretty much everywhere on the internet right now that flipping out about this game. Everything is pointing towards Sunset delivering and in a big way.

How is this any indication that the game itself is going to be good? People hype trailers for games all the time that turn out, in the end, to be mediocre. And simply put, Insomniac doesn't seem to be the developer that they once were. Once again, this is only a very short game play trailer, I'll reserve my judgement for hands on impressions at the very least.

Its an indication that Insomniac is on the right track. Were you not around for the reactions to FUSE when it was shown? They looked nothing like this.

The point is that so far all signs point to Insomniac making a hell of a comeback not the other way around. Its perfectly fine to not be excited for this game, I never implied everyone HAS to be excited for it.

I simply am stating that currently it appears that Sunset Overdrive may very well be the game that brings Insomniac back to form and so far everything we've seems to indicate that.

And what I'm trying to say is we've barely seen anything about the game. One. Gameplay. Trailer. Like I said, my key problem as to why I'm not hyping it is because there ISNT enough information on the game. Or impressions, as I noted before.

There were a ton of impressions today from major media and they all seemed to love it.

Its starting to look like Insomniac have a serious winner on their hands with this one.

Wow that looks like old Insomniac is back. It brings a tear to my eye.

Can't wait to see more of this.

EDIT: Its like Dead Rising, Bioshock Infinite, Ratchet & Clank, and inFamous had a baby

Honestly, I was not interested at all in this title until I just saw the OP video. Now I am more interested in this title than any other X1 game to date. I may consider getting X1 for this and Fable when that comes out.

Well it's the same studio making Sunset Overdrive. I'd just err on the side of caution with this one, that's all.

How you're managing to gauge Insomniacs excitement and the internets general reaction and use it as evidence of the game delivering I'm not really sure, but I like your enthusiasm. This may well be a hit. I just have the concerns I mentioned earlier about the slower gameplay and replayability. The roman candle weapon is pure genius and was obviously chosen for purely asthetic reasons, as it looks beautiful.

I'm pretty much always optimistic. I want everything to be good. In fact the sheer level of negativity on online forums are toxic and are one of the biggest reasons the gaming community is frowned upon.

So yes you are correct I am completly optimistic about this title until I have definitive proof saying otherwise. And so far hands on impressions and gameplay look legit, so very little reason not to be honestly.

So guns and skating is all that a musou game needs to be GOTY material.

I didn't know a new inFamous was coming out!
