I agree with a lot of what you said here but I don't see how really much of any of this applies to Sunset Overdrive? It was clear as day Insomniac seemed lost on where to go with Resistance and FUSE but everything we've seen today looks as laser focused on what this game is as the CGI unveil was.
In fact the gameplay looks about as faithful to a CG trailer as I've ever seen. I think Insomniac is all hands on deck on this one and honestly I think this is the most excited to release a game I've ever seen this studio.
All you have to do is looke at the pretty much everywhere on the internet right now that flipping out about this game. Everything is pointing towards Sunset delivering and in a big way.

How is this any indication that the game itself is going to be good? People hype trailers for games all the time that turn out, in the end, to be mediocre. And simply put, Insomniac doesn't seem to be the developer that they once were. Once again, this is only a very short game play trailer, I'll reserve my judgement for hands on impressions at the very least.

Its an indication that Insomniac is on the right track. Were you not around for the reactions to FUSE when it was shown? They looked nothing like this.
The point is that so far all signs point to Insomniac making a hell of a comeback not the other way around. Its perfectly fine to not be excited for this game, I never implied everyone HAS to be excited for it.
I simply am stating that currently it appears that Sunset Overdrive may very well be the game that brings Insomniac back to form and so far everything we've seems to indicate that.

And what I'm trying to say is we've barely seen anything about the game. One. Gameplay. Trailer. Like I said, my key problem as to why I'm not hyping it is because there ISNT enough information on the game. Or impressions, as I noted before.
