From the sounds of it, reviewers should start criticizing their pathetic racing abilities :)  You know who should review DriveClub?  Kazinori Yamauchi.

Is that the maker of Gran Turismo? I can already see him giving the game a 5/10. "Too arcadey" as they say.

Yeah, Kaz owns/started Polyphony Digital (maker of GT).  I actually think he'd score it higher, not only for the AI, but the attention to detail with regards to the cars themselves, as well as the environment.  Kaz is someone who is notorious for just loving to drive.  And he is quite good at it.

He loves to drive, but I don't think he would care much about the attention to detail. I mean, just look at Gran Turismo 5 and 6. And he definitely wouldn't be too fond of arcade racing.

Then again, playing Driveclub might help him to create a more inspired game next time.

Wut?

You should watch "Kaz: Pushing the virtual divide". This guy is made of passion and attention to detail.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Read the rest of my post. Gran Turismo 5 and 6 have great physics, but as games they really feel uninspired, whether it is the bland engine sounds or the inconsistent visuals.

Driveclub surely is better as a game, and I would love to have Gran Turismo 7 with the similar but improved physics but a more inspired framework as game.

Kaz is pretty much a perfectionist, which is why GT5 took so incredibly long I bet

Watch the movie, and tell me with a straight face that Kaz or people at PD make uninspired games. Seriously, it's a great movie btw.

Yeah, it's an awesome watch, it's really interesting how long he's had this vision for a video game, being able to really impact peoples real lives, and that it's not only executing now, but actually resulting in some very excellent real life drivers.

Yup, he is an amazing man, visionary. I've gained huge amount of respect for him and the team after watching this.

I love Driveclub but it's not a better game than GT. Racing in Driveclub is awesome, and setting better times is great too. Dirty racing against AI is what DC does better. The AI in GT is Canadian, trying to avoid you, practically apologizing to you when you hit them.

Doing clean competition races in DC on or offline is practically impossible. Racing close together, passing at the opportune moment without touching is the thrill that GT can give you. GT has the emphasis on driving clean in a wide variety of cars and provides countless events and tests for that experience.

As far as sound goes, I find that the weakest point of DC. Surround effects are well used, but during gameplay there is no bass at all. My subwoofer keeps switching off after 10 minutes of lapping, indicating there's no sound below 80hz, then turns back on for the menu music. GT lets you choose your setup and sounds mighty at full dynamic range. The sound options in TLoU remastered are the best. That lets you match the position of your surround speakers in the options. Would be cool if that was a system wide setup option.

Anyway should GT7 adopt aggressive AI? Dunno, it wouldn't feel like GT anymore. What it does need is to have the AI match your car performance. Only a few races in GT are really competitive where the cars are limited by the event. All the other ones you can easily have an overpowered car and leave them all in the dust by the second corner. It became more a game of how many I could lap before the race was over. It's more an overtaking simulator than a racing simulator.

The Op should be alien isolation in that list. Thats far from an easy game and a true survival horror as the AI is damn smar.

Got it.

Sweet :)
