Well, since the online servers close in 12 days, it might as well be called what it actually is, Mario Kart Wii, or Mario Kart Superior for accuracy.

I have a pretty hard time believing the "too many blue shells" complaint is legit. I've watched probably 3 hours of gameplay footage in the last 6 weeks and not seen anything like that. Some races I didn't see any blue shells.
So unless they last minute changed things... I don't think so.

Though maaayyybe, the likelihood of a blue shell goes up the longer the leader stays in first, or something, and if you're dominating you'll be hit more often. That speculation was based on no basis.

Admittedly they were probably at least half the time not in first nor were they far enough back to start getting blue shells themselves. So mileage may vary I suppose.
