Good review from Edge, they're usually very strict!

A 9/10 from EDGE is quite significant. They are super demanding.

For reference, Edge gave Mario Kart Wii a 6/10, but also gave Mario Kart 7 a 9/10

They have higher demands for a console game than for a handheld game (they imply it in their review anyway).

It was expected but it is still good to hear, especially from someone as strict as EDGE.

Mario Kart 64 still dances above MK7.

And MKWii laughs at MK7.

I do. Funky Bike Wii sucked. Mario Kart Wii, however, blew Mario Kart 7 out of the water.

1080p & 60fps Mario Kart goodness. I love my Wii U.
