well mk8 just hit over 100000 preorders so far in US
(week with no direct and bundle)
It was awesome
over a whopping 17000 preorders sold last week!
so i say 500000 to 750000 fw

The fact it has a global release week 1 with a bundle makes me think that it's possible, but since it releases late in the week it'll be hard.

bolded: you were spot on on what I think, digital sales already included.

MK7 did 1.3 + million FW worldwide and everything points to MK8 topping it. you are forgetting that MK sells MUCH better on home consoles and MK 8 is super anticipated.

Are you sure that you aren't toastboy by any chance and just here to give us something to laugh at?

I think it will sell maybe 600K that first week reported here and at least 325K the week following. Just my guess.

Still, >925K in first 9-10 days, and easily hitting a million in that third week. I think it will have an over 40% attach rate by the end of the year.

Just checked the numbers; Mario Kart Wii did close to 1.1 million first week in April 2008. On a 24 million installed base... This is quite simply impossible.

Mario Kart Wii did a full 2.1 million aligned launch; U.S. didn't come out till a couple weeks later. MK8 launches same week worldwide.

Ah, my mistake. Still, the Wii U would need a 12+ million installed base to be able to pull off the one million first week.
