PS3/360 certainly aren't out of the game this and probably even next year. Hell there were and are still last gen exclusives coming out (Dark Souls 2, South Park Stick of Truth, GRID Autosport, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, Sacred 3, Ultra Street Fighter IV, Risen 3)
Disney Infinity 2.0, Skylanders Trap Team, Watch Dogs, Destiny, Wolfenstein, Murdered Soul Suspect, Dragon Age Inquisition, Alien Isolation, The Evil Within, Madden NFL 15, Sniper Elite 3, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, CoD Advanced Warfare, Child of Light, Trials Fusion, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, AC Comet (not fully confirmed yet but extremely likely), FIFA 15 (again not announced yet, but EA supported 6th gen consoles for several years into the 7th gen)
There are still a lot of multiplats where PS3 and Xbox 360 are competing with WiiU, but also PS4 and Xbox One.
CoD Ghosts did 16m on last gen consoles, 4m on next gen
AC IV did 5.3m on last gen consoles, 2.5m on next gen
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes did 2m on last gen consoles, 1m on next gen
Skylanders Swap Force did 3m on last gen consoles, 0.5m on next gen
Just Dance 2014 did 4m on last gen consoles, 0.7m on next gen
I also have PS3 and 360 but only buy exclusives so they have no impact on my "Nintendo console third party buying habits" I just dont buy those games because mainstream is shit imho. (it also is with music and movies)
And If I feel the need to buy mainstream/so called AAA games I buy them a year after launch for 90% discount on steam etc.
Like I bought AssCreed3 and Farcry3 and Hitman for 5 bucks each.
No need to waste money when the devs themselves dont have much trust in their products value and therefore drop the price so fast. And console games being 10 bucks more expensive (because S/MS/N want a piece of the cake too) for games I actually dont want = another reason for me to buy on PC.
I just buy first/second party and system exclusives. When a game gets multiplat even without PC I also wait for at least 66% price drop because the game competes with the library of every console it will sooner or later drop in price and because not only 1 but every version of the game drops in price even if the game has nothing to compete on console X, I can get it on my desired platform for cheap.
The devaluation of their own products and the "assembly-line-approach" in which the games are made. (Every year a new game/ releasing the game when its "good enough" instead of polishing it) makes me NOT want those games.
Also I am an old school gamer. I mostly have no use for dudebro/sports or whatever.
This is how my 2 year old steam account looks like :)

Have a PS3 since launch in Europe in 2007. Still the same fat PS3.
Every generation I go, excluding PC, 'Nintendo + x', 'x' being the other console that hands me the best value. Really the only reason I have to have a Nintendo console every gen is because it'll have a Zelda game. The rest is, well, sort of expendable. That console of value has been a PlayStation twice now, a PS1 and PS3. Likely the 8th Gen will also see a PlayStation as my 'console-x', because it'll give me the best value in exclusive games.
I hardly buy third party games simply because to me they are hardly ever good enough. Really, the last time third parties came close to the quality of first parties, was in the fifth gen (the last time they actually competed was a gen before that). Why buy them when I can spend my money on way better games? This doesn't only apply to Nintendo consoles; I hardly buy third parties for my other consoles either.
On PS3 half is third party, but five of those are Guitar Hero so that artificially bumps the number. On Wii about a third of my collection is third party. On WiiU I right now only have two; ZombiU (because it was bundled, otherwise I wouldn't have) and Child of Light. In the foreseeable future I'm only seeing Watch_Dogs as an addition, and I wouldn't be surprised if those three Ubisoft games remain the only three third party games I'll have on my WiiU at the end of the generation, but there'll probably be a fourth at least. On 3DS I only have one; Resident Evil: Revelations.
I have a Wii U, PS3 and X360 (and a Wii of course). This gen I won't buy a Sony or MS console.
My main platform is still PC though, which still has the best exclusives for me - e.g. the recently released Age of Wonders 3 and the upcoming Civilization Beyond Earth.

Yes, I do own a PS3 and a 360. Both of them are awesome, but the PS3 is slightly better in my opinion!

I have everything.
That's what I told my doctor when he asked me about STDs. Oddly enough, it applies to which gaming consoles I own, too.

| Serious_frusting said: To be honest I think the last people who would want a Wii-U are people who already own a ps360. Thats why i predicted that the U would fail. To the average ps360 owner the wii-u is not an upgrade but a side step at best. Thats my honest opinion. I said it before the U launched and i will stick to it |
That might very well be true, but it's a depressing theory to say the least. It's scary to me that consumers view the WiiU only through a technological lens. You'd think the existence of excellent low-budget, low-tech indie titles and the impressive libraries of older-gen systems, many of which are superior to their counterparts in the seventh and eighth gens, would prove that the steady march of technology has not brought us a better class of video game.
@OP: I own a PS3, X360, PC, PSP, and PS4, in addition to my WiiU. For my WiiU I buy first and second party games and the third party games that perform, arguably, best on WiiU, games like Sonic Racing, Black Ops II, Most Wanted, Skylanders, LEGO, etc.
I have a gaming PC alongside my Nintendo console, but I'm looking into either a PS3 or PS4 because of "The Last of Us" as well as "The Order: 1886" and the "Uncharted" series.
So if Mario Kart 8 doesn't take up 100% of my gaming time this summer, you'll know why. :)
