Don't forget about the DS which was another fluke.

What are you talking about? The DS had virtually no competition. What else would kids play, Vita? Vita is designed for a mature crowd, and this crowd has no time to play the Vita. When should I, a 29 year old man have the time to play a Vita? I don't commute and even if I did, I'm too old to play handhelds.

Will the handheld business eventually be ousted by other mobile devices? Yes it will.

Ah, I see. It's clear that from now on any assessment you give about the video games market can be safely disregarded.

What demographic do you think the DS caters to? It's mostly kids under 14 years of age. There's a lot of kids in the world. There's also a lot of adults; few who are interested in playing a handheld.

You are launching a system geared towards kids in a market virtually free from competition.

All replies you make at this point are you essentially giving Rol license to school you more than he already has. I'd ditch before things go further south if i were you

I'm sick and tired of the constant call for Iwata's head. Its just so stupid. Iwata brought Nintendo to their greatest successes of their entire damn history. Not only that, but I firmly believe he is doinga good job as president now.

Nintendo's online infrastructure has improved vastly since the launch of the 3DS, and it continues to do so. It may not be moving as quickly as we want, but progress is being made.

Iwata has the right ideas about value. He really does. Look at the kind of DLC Nintendo has been putting out. Super content packed stuff that comes out later after release. They pretty much stand alone in the entire industry in this respect.

Iwata has not succumbed to micro transactions and mobile. How can you people not be fucking ecstatic? Nintendo is continuing to make great games that are not held back by touch screen only controls and pay to win strategy. He is not just a corporate yes man. And you all want him fired and replaced by someone who will gladly implement these policies?

Yeah, Iwata is not perfect, but he is working to improve a plethora of things within the company, and we are still getting super high quality games on machines with buttons, that don't have micro transactions shoved into them. Give the man some props.

Iwata is wholly incompetent and should be replaced immediately. The Wii was a fluke and a fad so please don't credit anything but chance on its isolated success.

I love Microtransactions and Mobile, Lazy devs don't know how to do them right.

You can't replace anyone at Nintendo. They're all "staples of the gaming community". Right...?

Are you planning on attempting any sort of retort? Based on your highlighting of the passage i wrote, you don't agree with me. I would love to engage in a spirited, yet friendly, debate with you. In order to do so, you must contribute some sort of original thought. In this instance, based on the assumption that you want Iwata sacked, I reccomend you give reasons why you thing so. It's cool that you made a post that shows your avatar and all, but it would be even cooler if that post was filled with material that could be used to further the conversation. Forums are cool for discussion, ya know?

I think Pachter should run Nintendo.

But more importantly, I disagree with your defense of Iwata on the grounds that history and lineage isn't that important in the performance of the company today.

When describing Nintendo, stuck in the past often comes up as an endearment. Its an insult, how can the company that lead the market for so many years be trailing behind younger competitors who are keeping up with the times.

Furthermore, I do not understand the irrational hatred of DLC, Microtransactions, and Mobile Gaming. They are just like guns. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. And as such, good developers can use DLC, Microtransactions, and Mobile to the benefit of the consumer as well as themselves. This is what Iwata should be driving Nintendo towards. Despite founding PlayStation, Kutaragi was axed when his ambition clouded his reason and judgement and resulted in the terrible launch of the PS3. Why is Iwata immune to the perils of being held accountable for the decline in home console sales?

If Smash and MK8 don't boost Wii U sales, I say to make Sakurai the president. He is the perfect kind of person to be the persident of Nintendo

Even a broken clock is right twice a day!

That said, it's hard to tell how much of Nintendo's problem is Iwata and how much is...everything else going on behind the scenes. It's possible that a very large chunk of the company's employee base is working against Nintendo's best interests - and they might not even know it! I'm sure many folks at Nintendo thought a Wind Waker remake was an awesome idea.

u played WW HD? it was a fantastic idea.

and patcher is wrong like everytime he talks without taking money...

NOA is shit like NOE, why? because they dont have enough power to make something on there own.

nintendo needs more power for NOA and NOE.  both need one own studio to make games specific for the markets.

and the porting of games should be managed in other ways. atm it just doesnt work, we get to little games to late.  even if the ports dont make big money, they are the best way of getting a stronger fanbase.

Reggie would fix the Wii U by beating his subordinates with his chin attack. No more "please understand...".
