Overclockers Xbox One price now £299, as Nintendo announce Mario Kart 8 bundle

Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack – Special Edition

Update:

Something very odd is going on in the world of Xbox One pricing, as Overclockers have now decreased the price of the FIFA 14 bundle even further, to just £299.99. At time of writing the store only has four in stock though, so you best be quick.

Since Overclockers is primarily a PC and components supplier we assume they’re simply trying to shift stock, as at the same time Amazon and Asda has increased their prices – back up to the standard £399.00. That’s actually quite a good sign for Microsoft as it means two of the UK’s largest retailers are feeling more confident about selling the console at it’s suggested price.

Original story:

Overclockers is offering the cheapest Xbox One bundle yet, with a free copy of FIFA 14, as Nintendo reveal a £300 new Wii U deal.

You can now pick up an Xbox One and a copy of FIFA 14 for just £329.00, although we’re not sure how long online store Overclockers is going to keep them in stock at that price. Especially as their website says they only have ’10+’ at the moment.

Earlier in the month Amazon and Asda both cut the price of the Titanfall bundle to £349.00, a drop of £50 from the suggested retail price of £399.99 (itself lowered from the £429.99 price tag at launch).

Although it was speculated at the time that the price would only be for a limited period neither shop has change it yet, which implies a great deal about how the Xbox One is still not selling as much as Microsoft, and retailers, had hoped.

There’s no uncertainty about how badly the Wii U has been doing since launch but May 30 sees the release of Mario Kart 8, the biggest game yet for the system.

The limited edition version of the game – for those that already have a Wii U (yes, both of you)

Nintendo has already announced a Limited Edition version of the game with a blue shell statute, which comes with a Wii Wheel at GAME and a keyring and T-shirt if you buy it from Nintendo themselves.

Also announced today is the Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack – Special Edition, which costs £299.99 and comes with a Wii U console, a copy of the game, a red Mario Wii Wheel, a red Mario Wii U GamePad protector, a Mario hat, a Mario Wii Remote Plus, and a Mario Kart 8 game guide.

There’s also a Luigi special edition that’s the same as the above, except everything’s green. Special edition Princess Peach and Yoshi Wii Remote Plus will also be released separately on May 30 and we’re going to make a wild guess that they’re pink and green, respectively.

Neither of the special editions seem to be listed on other online stores yet, so they may be Nintendo store exclusives, but there’s a non-special edition Premium Pack for £249.99 that includes just the Wii U and game.

We can’t imagine that that won’t be released at other stores, but there’s no sign of it at the moment that we can see.

[Update: Nintendo has confirmed that the Special Edition is an exclusive to them, but the non-special Premium Pack isn't.]

Wow, if true insane deal but the link says no longer available

Praise the One.

Will be interesting to see how Xbox One will do if it's gone back up in price. Have a feeling it will dip below PS4 again

I think they cleared them all since no-one was buying from them.

The standard edition was posted on a UK deals website and heres what happened...

"I am not doing any fanboy crap, but it tells you how bad these are selling when this deal is one of the hottest deals of the day, and when OP posted there was 5 in stock, and only 2 have sold!

anecdotal evidence it may be, but it paints a problem for MS"

As far as I know, overclockers are not bad retailers so I wonder why hardly anyone wants to buy xbox's from them especially when they have such discounted prices.

Because nobody has ever even heard of overlockers...

I saw the link on Friday when Eurogamer listed it, there were over 10 consoles then, but who knows how many.

But.. it doesnt sound good for the console when prices are dropping like a stone, there must be a ton of stock out in shops atm.
