Forums - Gaming - Titanfall exclusivity proved to be (quite) pointless

It was that or let the game die, what would you prefer?

well for my gaming tastes,...  let the game die sounds better.

OT - while i'll assume MS's investments into the franchise did pay the kind of dividends they wanted what is the alternative?  no nothing?!  every console needs some high profile exclusives.   so why get all up in MSs shit over trying to make their console desireable?

It's only pointless to the playstation fans. not to Ms fans....also.. MS saved titanfall.. sony wanted titanfall vita lmao

Well common sense...

MS wants Titanfall to save Xbone...
Sony wants Titanfall to save Vita...

Serious... I guess Sony wanted a version of the game on Vita... they are working like that now... they incentive the devs to make a Vita port of PS4 games... I can't blame them for that.

I get a feeling that most people that hate Titanfall:
1- Doesn't like/suck at playing FPSs.
2-Hate anything that's not on their console of choice.
3-Is just a sour person that hates seeing others being happy.

Or EA could've actually used their money.

LOL, Nintendo could've bought it like they did Bayonetta 2.

Looking at EA's finances the last years I wouldn't be too sure if EA can really invest much in new projects and teams. If you already lost billions it's not so easy to throw money around. People talk about Sony as if they have no money for anything nowadays but I'm not sure if EA is really in a much better position. At least I believe that they lost billions the last years, maybe I don't remember it correct.

Finally, another Titanfall thread!

Who cares? MS has a lot of money to throw around. It it wasn't worth while, oh well.

It's the no 2 game for the X1 and will probably surpass Ghosts in a couple of weeks. That will make it the best selling X1 game at the moment and probably for a long time to come. How is that pointless? That's like saying the X1 is pointless.

Why didn't Nintendo come up with this genius idea?!

But Titanfall was on 2 consoles and PC. It wasn't exclusive.
If the game was just on the Xbone and not on the 360 and PC then sales would probably have increased for the Xbone.

Btw you shouldn't forget that there is more as selling consoles if you fund such a game. There will be many people paying for Gold only to play this game on 360 and also a few on XB1. That's also a reason why the time of the release was good, around half a year after and before the other big shooters like CoD.

That as example is also something which will be in Microsoft's calculation but is probably not in most forum users calculation, that there are a lot of people who buy Gold only to play some shooters for some months and stop paying until the succesor releases.

That is debatable;

TitanFall's attach rate is close to that of Wii Sports (GOAG aka Game of All Generations)
