they need to have a conference, not a direct at E3. it simply draws more attention and generates more hype

Last April was when we found out they weren't having a traditional conference. Let's hope they confirm that they will this year.

I'm still too shocked by Fatal Frame game announcement for Wii U. That's a game they could have easily announced at E3 yet we got to know about it now. Wawho!

My guess is a MK8 ND as the last one before the E3 Conference.
Yes, i do think this year there will be one. Last year they barely had any novelty that allowed them to compete with MS and Sony.

They are most likely saving announcements to create momentum for Wii U and maybe a re-release of the console!

Skipping conference last year for Nintendo Direct was the wrong move, yeah direct is great for there loyal fans and they should keep doing them, but they need to be on the big stage when the media is watching.

How is this a good sign?

Actually is a pretty bad one. A standard ND with info and release dates of already announced games like Bayo 2, X, Yoshi and SSB will be more exciting as there will be more time to show new unanounced games.

In this way, you will see a lot of time wasted on those games and not on new ones.
