Forums - Nintendo - Will Smash Bros Boost Wii U Sales at All??

I love how the "don't shoot the messenger" rule never applies to toastboy.

Check what I posted 6.74 seconds after you.

Having said that, the Wii U will see a sizable boost from Smash Bros., but whether or not that is sustained is another matter entirely.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Another thread where Nintendo loyalists attack the OP just because they have heard something before. I guess we should seize with the Nintendo threads, even if the WiiU continues to do badly. The mod team is just going to lock this topic in the end instead of moderating the ones breaking the rules.

If you have a problem with a post or a thread, merely report them. You know where it is.

Please do that rather than retaliating to the OP, or needless flaming. Anyone doing that from here on out will be punished severely.

I have used that in the past, but nothing happens. You can see for yourself what the others are saying about the OP.

Well, I've put down a notice here so any action after that point will not be tolerated.

You guys think that Smash Bros sales will boost Wii U above Xbox One and PS4 on a weekly basis but there is almost a zero chance of that happening.

A better version of Smash Bros will come to 3DS way before the Wii U version comes out. The 3DS will have better modes.

Probably 99% of Wii U owners own a 3DS and will want to get the better version first rather than buying the Wii U version later on (look to see what watchdogs sales for Wii U will be after having other versions out).

The 3DS version will be more favored because more people own a 3DS; people can play with more of their friends.

Nintendo gamers say graphics do not matter so buying a 3DS with Smash Bros is a hell of a lot more appealing than buying a $300 dollar system and a $50 dollar game for a couple extra pixels.

To be honest, I see the 3DS version selling 4 million and the Wii U version selling 2.5 million. This game will not be a huge system seller. All my opinion of course, what do you think?

fuck no, I would be surprised if the number is higher than 50%. And to answer the question the wii U numbers will probably up due to the holidays but people will claim it's due to smash and claim once again that the wii U is saved!!!

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Already started lol'ing! Good job mate, keep up the great work! xD

Also, what'll actually happen is all Wii U only owners will sell their Wii Us so they can buy a 3DS + SSB4 come summer!

A lot of people will actually buy both.

SSB Wii (released 6 years ago) sold nearly 800k copies last year. Previous entries from N64 and GC command a high asking price online. Tournaments for all the Smash Bros games have a deeply committed following.  That said, there's considerably high demand for a new Smash Bros for both platforms.

Not only will it sell well on both platforms, it'll be the best-selling and highest rated fighting game of the year.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

It'll be the best selling fighting game of the generation :)

Nothing to see here, what a fucking load of bullshit.

Well, I must say you are wrong on this one. It's pretty clear to me that this multiplayer party game that most will want to play in the livingroom on a tv in fact will make the Wii U sales drop! Yes, for that is the only reasonable outcome when one of the most anticipated games ever launches!

Even so the Wii U will outsell the PS4 and the Xbox One, because the game will definetly not launch anywhere near christmas, the shopping season where those two would have outsold it anyways!
