Forums - Nintendo - Will Watchdogs be the last chance for third parties on the Wii U?

Based on how CoD:Ghosts, AC4, and other recent games performed on Wii U...

Watchdogs has little chance of being a success on Wii U even if it launched on time.

From what I am told, both those games are the worst of the series. Watch Dogs is a world class game. Much better chance to do well. At least 100 thousand first week.

No, AC4 is considered one of the best if not the best in the series. Feelings are mixed on Ghosts, but its ultimately selling very well.

It should also be noted AC4 and Ghosts have done quite well on PS4/X1. Abysmal sales only on Wii U.

Lastly, as of right now Watch Dogs on Wii U is the only version not on the Top 30 USA Pre Order Chart.

Well I blame that mostly on not really knowing when it will release.

Perhaps... but its more likely a small number of Wii U owners are interested in Watch Dogs.

We've seen plenty of core games avilable on Wii U at launch and have abysmal sales. Watch Dogs had little chance of being an exception. Maybe Watch Dogs sales on Wii U could have been above average at best, but still significantly below all other platforms.

Its clear the Wii U audience primarily wants 1st party Nintendo game and other family friendly games. Which is fine, atleast there is a place for Wii U on the market.

that excuse is a crock anyway. it wasnt like it had high preorders BEFORE the delay

Bayonetta is a niche game in a niche series. That isnt AAA, its doesnt have anywhere near the budget or scope of say an Infamous or GTA. Same with Transformers, Fatal Frame is even lower on the totem pole hell it probably wont even be released outside Japan

Cool, I guess since you know, what's the budget of these games?

Lol. Probably man...probably...

GTA? Hell no. A big AAA budget? Sure. They seem to be trying to build a dynasty around Fatal Frame (manga, live action movie, novel, and new game) so why wouldn't it have a big budget. Bayonetta 2: Daddy Nintendo is footing the bill, it's like a Super Sweet 16 party. Transformers? That's already a huge budget franchise. WIth that game you have big name voice actors, extensive detailed robot and vehicle mode, a long campaign as well as a multitude of multiplayer options. They new one seems a step UP from from everything prior. So what are you going off of?

Now let me ask you, do you think Infamous Second Son or Killzone Shadow Fall had the same budget or was on the same scale as GTAV? (This should be HILARIOUS!)

I predict 500-700k. And I think third party support for Wii U was gone after year 1.

Gaming since 1990

nope i would consider those games double AA, GTA isnt a AAA title? it that isnt AAA then what the hell is?

Ok Ninty is footing the bill so what? that doesnt mean much, hell they are probably footing the bill becasue those games are not that expensive to begin with. Transformers...MOVIES are big budget franchises, maybe even the shows. Games? not so much, look at the sales. They are nothing to scream about and thats AFTER price cuts. I like those games, wish they did better, but im sure they are not AAA becasue they would be losing alot of money and i doubt Activision would continue, this new one is releasing the time of the new movie so maybe it can get buzz from that. I hope so, they deserve better. Bayonetta, how much will that sell. It would be lucky if it could do original numbers and even that was considered a failure by Sega.

I was saying was those games mentioned on the same budget as GTAV, hell no. As far as the other 3 games, brace yourself, I think we are just going to have to disagree. (being as we both have no proof.)
