No. The motion sold the Wii. That game was just bundled.

These 2 games will surely help a lot but a price cut and other games are needed to really "take it home" and keep momentum.

Smash Bros is top 3. On Wii it went Mario Kart, 2D Mario, Smash Bros, when not counting Wii Sports/Play/Fit since those games are pretty irrelevent now. Also on Gamecube it was Smash Bros, Mario Kart, 3D Mario. Even in its debut on N64 it made #5 behind 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Zelda. Nintendo no longer has Goldeneye and it has outsold Zelda & 3D Mario for the last 2 generations. It will most likely be top 3 on Wii U behind NSMBU & Mario Kart 8, maybe 3D World will outsell it but for sure top 4-5.

I need some clarification on the bolded quote. What do you mean drive two million units? Do you mean the game itself will sell two million or it will drive the sales of 2 million consoles? If 2 million copies of the game, I think it's somewhat reasonable. If it's the second option, one of the most rediculous predictions I've ever seen. 
Pretty sure that mario kart will sell more though, considering they always sell better than super smash bros. Which I don't understand. Super smash bros is so much better. 

But personally. I think the wii may be beyond saving at this point. Nothing yet has kept it's sale up. There a slight chance either game could save it, but I'm doubting it.

I kid, i kid. Maybe, who really knows? Those are probably the strongest titles the Wii U is offering, next to 3D World. But the thing is, it's not about two knock out games every here and there, it's amount momentum. They need to dish out game after game after game. The Ps4 and Xbone may not need to do that since they are riding on hype, but the Wii U needs to keep its killer line up consistant.

Not worth buying a system for but a great pickup for anyone with a wiiu. I'll stick to my ps4. I wish Nintendo would release a new franchise. They have the talent and resources to do it

The PS4 has shown that Knack is the only system seller out there, so MK8 wont have an impact at all! :P

I think MK8 and Smash Bros. will move a lot of consoles, but it wont be enough to keep the console alive for a few years. I dont think Nintendo has a bigger system seller coming out the next year than this year. Zelda and a 3D Mario are nice, but they dont have that much of an impact compared to Mario Kart.
