Forums - Nintendo - If Smash is 2015, what is Nintendo's big game for the holiday?

*Is given a release window that clearly specifys 2014. Thinks that means it could release in 2015.*

I lol at this thread!

I think people are taking winter too literally. The game will come out in late november or early december. Smash IS their holiday game.

I imagine in this case "Winter 2014" means "November/December 2014", but who knows with Nintendo. If not Smash, then it could be anything from X to Yarn Yoshi to Hyrule Warriors, but nothing massive (sales wise)

Bayonetta 2 and X probably being Holiday material to not make them look like flops. Hyrule warriors will pave the core way to WiiU in September or so

All of that is niche tho, great for fans but not for selling systems ect.

Well the promise of Smash in January and official bundles (MK8, Bayonetta2) and the inevitable pricecut will surely help

So Nintendo announced Smash for WiiU is winter 2014, this doesn't mean 2014 necesserily. Winter 2014 definition is Dec 21st - March 19th. So there is actually a 90% chance it is 2015 if you look at how many days it has to launch in 2014.

Is ZeldaU coming earlier than expected?!!

Umm?? Yeah for what country??

This was streamed worldwide and has the tentative release of Winter 2014. After googling that it seems Winter in like 99% of the world starts before Dec 21st.

So Im sticking with SSB is their holiday title and will release in December.

US, Japan is like the 7th?

If the 3DS version comes out in summer, than Winter 2014 will mean 2014...

If it was November it would be fall or holiday, Nintendo haven't suddenly started using these terms loosely to suit your arguments ....

I agree; it's more hoping that it will be this year for the reason that I want to play it more than anything.

Because, well, it looks awesome!

And aside from that there's pretty much nothing "big" left aside from Zelda, and that won't be this year...
