Brad Wardell says its currently not integrated in X1´s DirectX API.

He means all 6 cores? Because two cores are reserved to OS.

BTW games on Xbone are spliting the work already... see Ryse presentation.

can you show me the link to the presentation? work in application is always splitted. but i would like to know, if they really splitted draw-calls (which should not be possible with the current X1 API) to multiple threads already. this would be new news to me, and i highly doubt that they already used this feature.

Are there any system requirements for this on PC?
If im using DX11 now, is that enough to say I will be able to upgrade to DX12?
Lastly, If I upgrade to DX12, will it change the performance of older games in any way?

Did you really think the games are running making draw-calls in only one core of a weak CPU running at 1.7Ghz?

What DirectX 12 do is to split in a better way... DirectX 11 split the calls too.

That's good news, but a shame it will not release until 'holiday 2015'. Btw, can someone tell me what 'holiday' means? Is that the 4th of July, Summer, Chrismas maybe?

when someone or a company said "holidays 20.."   they are referring to the holiday season in north american, november/december

November-December to be exactly... it is the period from the Thanksgiving (Black Friday) until the new year.

- xbox one released in november 2013

- in 2014 dx12 kicks in , console becames 2 times more powerfull, too damn powerfull ...

- in the start of 2015 cloud power is in full potential on the consoles , xbox one gets much more powerfull and something start hapening that day, millions off xbones together by the power of the cloud.

- In 2016 a new age started, xbones around the world created one entity , people start seeing when they play their consoles one word blinking in the right corner of the screen. SKYNET

skynet became one self-aware artificial intelligence system , this entity controls every machine conected to the internet now.

2017 starts the rise of the machines , human race is doomed, only a few selected humans are left alone , machines let them leave in peace in one place called FANTASY land and selected one human leader to rule them, is name... MisterXmedia .

WE ARE DOOMED

LOL!! Just when the thread was getting boring you saved it. Thanks!

you are right.

here the full directX 12 presentation btw: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/65778-directx-12-detailed-dx11-gpu-compatibility-more.html

multi-threading is still 50% more efficient than before though. (tested on 3D Mark)

seems like PCs are going to get more of a boost out of DX12 than X1. Awesome for my gaming PC =).
Lets hope it will be enough of a boost for X1 too, so that it decreases the gap between the ps4 further.

So, with DX12 Xbone will be 2 times more powerful, and with DX13 it will be 3 times more powerful right ?
That's great; by the time DX15 will be available, we won't need the Next XBox because One will be already 5 times more powerful than the current One. Cheers to the special soup !
