Forums - Gaming - Does Nintendo Justify the Wii U?

You cannot justify a console to be competition void of third party. Nintendo is doing fine on their own but no one ever discredited them for that. That is not their problem. The other 75% of their expected library that should've been is the problem because of their ignorance.

" There are better alternatives for a racing game on the Xbox One at the moment and I'm sure on PS4 by the end of the year."

Yup.. There are many awesome kart racers on the PS4 and Xbox One like............ uh...............

Nothing new, Nintendo has always been the platform for Nintendo titles and if we get a few good AAA thrid party titles then "hurray!"

I did make the leap to PC gaming during the Wii era. But that doesn't mean I will abandon them even after a few bad decisions or lack games. They will change, adapt and find what works for them. All are life lessons and no one is perfect.

Nintendo has creative ideas, creative and confined as they might be, but they are not adapting. They are hurting themselves while trying to dance around their competition. They are ignoring a wide base of gamers to try to attract people who dont game. They struck gold last gen but as I and many have said they are afraid to face Sony and Microsoft head on. Thats why they are punching around them rather than at them. Nintendo is a great company but justifying that having a few third party is a good thing, then you have zero clue what made the original Nintendo and Super NES have at least half or more of their success.

I could flip the whole thing around and ask "are Microsoft´s inferior multiplat titles plus weak first party efforts justifying a XBone ?"

It is all a matter of taste, I value Nintendo´s games enough to invest in their homeconsoles and the same is true for XBox-fans and Playstation-fans for their respective consoles of choice.

...and your whole post falls apart when you try to claim that Forza 5 and Gran Tourismo are interchangable for Mario Kart 8.

So what we have here is a post filled with your own opinion and straw man arguments....didn´t you want to take a break from this site ?

I know much about the NES & SNES days and all the great content those systems had but we haven't seen that in some time. N64 held on with first party title after the mIghty Sony entered the race. Money is a big factor now. Sony & Microsoft throw billions into games & advertising, taking losses on every console sold, Nintendo simply can't do that because if they fail, they will have a harder time bouncing back. DIrect competition has been ruff and thats why they are trying some new tactics. I'm not saying what they are doing is right but I still won't abandon them, not yet.

I think it's been well known for a few generations that the main pull for Nintendo hardware is indeed Nintendo software.

Nintendo are doing a good job of selling the Wii U with what is available to them from 3rd parties. Nintendo software can only do so much though when the hardware and/or controller has drawbacks and 3rd parties are trying to avoid it like the plague.

Consistent, quality support is what sells a videogame system in the long run. Nintendo alone cannot offer consistent, quality support. They simply dont have the resources.

With what they have on the market right now and what they have in the pipeline, I think they're doing about as well as can be expected, considering the circumstances. Can see the Wii U breaking 10 Million this Year with a pricecut and the right software in November/December.

The last great Zelda game was twilight princess and sales show it.

Screw this. Link Between Worlds, baby.

And guys, don't turn this thread into a "Let's attack toastboy" thread. Address the points put forward in the OP rather than attacking the author.

Don't be silly. It fell apart long before that.

you will probabably go Xbox 360, PS3, or PC as these are cheaper alternatives

How is buying and building a PC a cheaper alternative?
