The cutscenes were the only good things about SSE...I played through it all but it really didn't highlight any of the strongpoints of the SSB series...

Also, I don't think the OP is saying that this would "replace SSE" so much as it would be another game sort of in the style of SSE...it wouldn't be part of smash, it would just use a lot of Nintendo mascots. I personally think they should go the Pokemon route but that may just be me

I think alot of u are misunderstanding what I meant. This NFC game wont be part of Smash Bros, im saying maybe they took out the story mode of Smash Bros in order to beef it up and make it a full fledged retail game. Now we will have Smash Bros as the mascot fighting game and Nintendo NFC as the mascot action/adventure game.

We already know Nintendo has a NFC game in the works and the 2 most logical choices are either a Pokemon NFC game or a Nintendo mascot NFC game.

Not that I am the biggest fan of the SSE, but I simply don't like how the NFC idea sounds..

Subspace Emissary was good until the Giant Maze, though...

I felt the opposite. The Great Maze was when Subspace Emissary GOT good. It was a mediocre Kirby-clone before that point, notable only for the cutscenes and boss fights (which were both bitchin')

My problem with SSE is it ruined unlocking characters, there was no challenge to it and you never felt like you earned any of the characters it's actually my only real complaint with Brawl, I can forgive almost all it's other issues, but this really made it feel like I had less reason to play.

well I wouldn't object to something like that, I could see that being something interesting. But to introduce it into Smash at this stage would be disruptive to the gameplay.
