hey, thanks. It's been rough lately.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

I might, a couple of factors come in regarding if I do or don't.

Possibly...I don't think I would buy a Wii U just for Mario Kart but it's probably the most interesting game the Wii U has. However... I might wait for more games I'd know I'd buy (such as Zelda) before buying the console. Not sure I'm willing to ever buy a Nintendo system again just to play the waiting game.

Highly likely. If it comes with a wii u price drop then day 1 no doubt.

It will not come with another price drop. MK8 alone, and an MK8 bundle, will be enough to help boost sales. They don't need to be losing MORE money, and another price drop isn't neccisary just yet.

But @OP Yes, I do personally know that a lot of people I've talked to online and "IRL" have been holding off on getting a U until MK8 and/or SB came out.

What are those factors, if you don't mind me asking? :O

If Mario Kart 8 didn't come out this year I wouldn't have bought a Wii U with my Christmas money. So yes, Mario Kart 8 influenced my purchase of the Wii U four months from release of the game itself.

If that's not "good selling nature" then I don't know what is.

Really just one factor, and that being if it has other games I want to play besides Mario Kart 8.

Probably not, I've never been a fan of racers, MK included. If the next Zelda is within the quality of TP (which was what got me to buy a Wii back in the day), then i'll definitely be getting one eventually, TP was my favorite of the whole series so i'm hoping for more like it. Other than that the WiiU doesn't have much than interests me more than similar titles on the PS4/X1.

Someone earlier mentioned how people avoid the Wii U because of the perception of non-longevity for the system... as in, a system with only a handful of games a year can't possibly be worth the investment over the long run. But let me ask you this: how many people are already tired of Titanfall? Or Infamous? Games like Wonderful 101, SM3DW, Pikmin 3, Wii Sports Club, even Donkey Kong all encourage long-term use. I have at least 10 games, and I'm nowhere near being finished.

Mario Kart is a series defined by longevity and fun for all ages. It's the ultimate party game. People WILL buy it. Wii U will outsell Xbone by a large margin this year thanks to its late May boost (and ultimately, I believe that all three games they've put out/are putting out, including SM3DW, Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart, are ALL FINISHED and have been finished long, long before their release dates to allow for a barrage of titles at the end of this year) and then all our announced 2014 games roll out in consecutive months. It's finally a genius move.
