PS4 will be sub 20k from now on until they get a release that the Japanese want. No idea how far away that is.

Also this would have been a part of that 3DS bump I think

I think Sony is relying on FFXV hitting December 2014 (speculation) or they will have some serious issues selling PS4s

Also MGSV rumored 1st Half 2015 so those 2 big hitters back to back would be amazing for them

December for FFXV seems optimistic.  I was thinking maybe they would announce something at E3 that could possibly tempt the Japanese and would come out this year, like The Last Guardian or a new IP from Japan Studio, but that seems pretty optimistic too.  Don't know why they were so unprepared, it's their only major mistake during PS4's entire WW launch.

Really rather surprised that the 3DS not only outsold the Vita this week, but by such a margin. I would have said this was Vita's week, but Miku debuts alright (I thought slightly over 100k), Mario Party holds well and the PS4 doesn't fall harshly.

So, a good week all round.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Big jump for everything, but PS family>Nintendo family... And we have a whole month with nothing releasing for Wii U...

Well said, WE have , but japan will recieve this:

and this:

Nothing big, but both exclusives, so, yeah, april (and may mostily) will suck hard for us, but not so much for them.

Final Fantasy XV started production shortly before its announcement in May 2006

This year is optomistic??

Anyway I expect to see it at E3 with a 2015 US/EU reveal and at TGS SQEX finally announce its Japan date weather that be late 2014 or early 2015... late 2015 is just too long. And now I pray to Yuel I dont have to wait until 2016 to play it

It started off as Versus though didn't it so who knows how many times they changed the game's direction.  8 years is a long time.  Even if it does hit Japan in December, that's still as many as 8 months with low sales, unless theres something else coming.

Theres not though. Literally nothing major is releasing on PS4 in Japan for awhile so yeah it will struggle all year. There may be a few games here and there but all will be multiplat with PS3 and Vita so minimum impact really.

PS4 need games.

Vita doing good but not outselling 3DS thanks to the big bundles, but it will outsell it when Sword of art will be released ( well unless they release an other big bundle to counter that )

Are'nt Final Fantasy coming to 3DS that week?

you are correct...they are releasing the same day, but the first game wasn't really a huge hit.

According to COMG, SAO should be a much bigger title and vita should get a bigger comparative boost. I expect Vita to outsell 3DS that week...
