Forums - Gaming - Square Enix to focus on JRPGs and their core audience again?

Aside From DQ, and FF, and KH. Which they're making anyways.

SE has never had games, that have sold as Much as Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, or Hitman.

If you're wanting/expecting a lot more console game JRPG's. I think you'll be dissapointed.
But that's my opinion.

All this means to me is that projects, like Mindjack, Gun Loco, Front Mission Evolved, the 3rd Birthday... might be JRPG's again,
on handhelds or console. Instead of just mobile games, with FF, DQ, KH + western games on console, PC, and handhelds.

By JRPGs, he is probably talking Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3. Potentially DQXI for the 3DS, to go along with ports of FFV and FFVI.

Either that, or expect them to push Lightning outfits into every new title they release.

Hopefully this means we can see a return of vagrant story that plays similar to Demon Souls.

That's a good one.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

He is referring to Bravely Default as the game that is getting them to refocus. Hopefully all future Square Enix titles will benefit from this, since they've certainly had some screw ups in recent years.

I was referring to the last sentence of your post with FF X.

Incomplete titles not fit for a global audience? Why you no like FFX?

I was just trollin' SE. If they'd make anything close to FFX I'd be really excited. FFXV... I'm not. They were aiming globally with FFX as well and they did a good job. The excuses they make for failing hard... pathetic.

Bravely Default is a fantastic game...until chp 5...-_-

They can start by announcing Dragon Quest 7 and Type 0 for the west.

They say these things and then they do the complete opposite

I don't understand how this could have flown over their heads. I play Final Fantasy because it is a JRPG with japanese elements. Why would I want to play FF with mass effect elements, or call of duty? That takes away from what I enjoyed to begin with in favor of something else.
