There is no weakness, their main competitor is just over rated. Not all of us feel their competitor has an amazing line up.

Not the only series with this problem, too many series last gen that if you didn't play the last 1 or 2 iterations, you missed nothing.


What IP are we talking about?

Resistance? Killzone? Uncharted? God of War? Infamous?

 

There are a lot of games in your PSN profile that have been run into the ground. You feel some IPs are "selling on fumes" but you are apparently gladly apart of that.

I wish them the best of luck, but I dont think they will have anything which will come close to the success of DOTA or LOL.
I hope the news doesnt mean there will be no more unreal tournament either.

You begrudge those IPs and still give them a chunk of your life over and over again. Maybe you enjoy those rehashed games more than you realize.

People forget how dead Epic would have been if not for MS and Gears. Not a single notable game this gen out side of Gears and last gen their console efforts were dire.

I predict a mobile / indie future for Epic Games.

How does adding a multi-million selling franchise to your first party show any kind of weakness? lol

Halo - 10 Million selling franchise
Gears - 6 Million selling franchise
Forza - 4 Million selling franchise
Fable - 4 Million selling franchise
Kinect Whatever - Multi-Million selling franchises
Dance Central - Multi-Million selling franchise

Then you have the smaller side projects from other 1st party studios. When you add in whatever 3rd party "exclusives" they want to buy, theyre offering Xbox gamers a fairly big set of options when it comes to content you cant find on another console. We have no idea what new IP they are working on and we have no idea how theyre gonna evolve IP that they are already pushing out.

Like I'm not going play a free game?   I'm not made of money, if I got the choice of playing a new free game in a tired series or playing nothing else new I'm gonna go for the free game.

You missed the point.

I'm pointing out you keep playing those "tired series" because you actually enjoy them. Otherwise you would do something else with your time.

Your only option aren't "tired series". Maybe you need to do some gaming on PC or consider a new hobby.

Epic made shit tons off of people using their engine, yes, but Gears would've come regardless. The MS hype machine deserves a shout out though for the success of Gears. All-in-all Epic is a PC focused company.
