Forums - Gaming - Did Microsoft just do what Nintendo was too afraid to do?

No, the 3DS price drop was the equivalent of Goku's desperate Spirit Bomb attack against Freza. The small price drop and free game giveaway by MS is desperate, but not nearly on Nintendo's level. With that said, Nintendo needs to summon another Spirit Bomb quick.

Microsoft can afford to take a loss for marketshare, Nintendo wanted to see if they could make it sell better without pricecuts. But for some reason they forgot about releasing games and doing any marketing whatsoever.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

nintendo already cut the Wii U's price...am I missing something?

According to threads all over this site, the price of the X1 is dropping like Nintendos stock price.

After the 3DS price incident, Nintendo seemed to lose its nerve and left the Wii U price alone. But Microsoft saw a problem and fixed it. Is it that simple?

I wish you would put a bit more...effort...or ..thought.... into your own threads....like the "Wouldn´t it be easier for Nintendo to just go third party ?!?" thread .

Nintendo cut the price 50$/ €  around August 2013 .

And no, 450$ is still too much for mass market success in this day and age for an objectively inferior system.

3DS problem was the price, price cut solved it.

Xone problem is price: bundles are solving it.

WiiU problem IS NOT price. It could be priced at US$99 and it would still have problems to sell.

It has Kinect, which adds a bit of subjectivity into the inferiority debate. ;)

With all those Nintendo has billions of dollars in the bank and have years and years where they could lose money bs talks on here, they should have sliced the price by $150 by now

Yes, make them bleed so much money. Thats pretty damn smart

I don't think a price cut will make much of a difference. Hopefully Mk8 and Smash Bros will if not then they could try getting Monolith Soft after they’ve made X to make a open world Pokémon RPG for Wii U with Compatibility with whatever the latest main series 3DS games are at the time of release if that also fails to boost sales then I have no clue how they can boost their sales in any significant way.

Some people seem to have lapses in memory.
