Forums - Gaming - Will Xbox1 ruin Titanfall 2 for the other systems (PC and most likely PS4)?

Titanfall will be Titanfall, regardless of the platform. This was a dev call, not a console limitation. X1 may have inferior performance and visuals to a degree, but in no way can it not handle more than 6 vs 6. Some people are getting way out of hand with all the flamebait.

I think 6v6 isn't what they wanted like some people are stating. Go watch the Digital Foundry framerate tests and when titans are on screen, there's a heavy drop in framerate. I think the developers thought that if too many titans got on screen at once in a 10 vs 10 match, that it might be unplayable.

Yeah, well, that's all just speculation. We will never know for sure what the devs really wanted or not. The only real question is though: Does the game work with 6v6, is it fun? Me and most other people who have played the game will answer that question with a clear yes. So everything is ok in terms of player count.

Does no one here remember Counter-Strike? You could play that game 1v1 and it was a blast! If a massive player count is needed depends heavily on the game. It's not like more is automatically better. You need the right balance. For example try Metro with 64 players - that's just complete chaos.

It would be also unplayable with higher framerate and more Titans which you should also see if you watched videos about the game. If you sit in a Titan and there are three more Titans around you between some buildings it is already almost too much. If you would have even more Titans there it would be a bad joke, also on PC when you have 60fps.

They would have to build completely different maps with less buildings or less walls but what would the Pilots do then?

Most likely by the tim T2 releases we will be in a situation where the X1 & PS4 games are basically identical,

besides wishful thinking, how is that possible in any-way-shape-form?

Ever played Star Wars Battlefront? That game had some crazy action and.... well mostly just me and my brother as human players :).

This thread didn't turn out the way OP wanted lol. There are always ppl trying so hard to keep the pedal on the fake console wars. Disgusting

It was designed for 6v6. The better looking and more hardware demanding Battlefield just discredits this OP before it began. Try harder.

I think they genuinely planned it to be 6v6 but it was a weird decision imo. I would prefer 9v9 or 12v12 but hey i haven't played the game so i dunno how 6v6 is.

I am thankful if more and more MP games go towards 6v6, 8v8 and not much more (fill it up with grunts instead). These overcrowded mp games are sooo boring. This decision had nothing to do with capacity, but design.

I think it depends on the game. Last of Us is perfect with 4 vs 4 because of the tatical aspect and slower pace. But Resistance 2 with 60 players is my favorite online to date, it was awesome to see two big factions clashing with several classes of weapons, each one balancing the other. Killzone 2 with 32 was another thing, its multiplayer was better than KZ3 with 16 simply because the felling of a war was much better on the crowded arena in KZ2.

Yeah, I can sign up to that. Playing Battlefield 1943 with mainly grunts would be quite boring :).
