Metroid Prime. There have been amazing games since, but the immersion in Prime was second to none. I've never become 'lost' in a game since.

The Last Of Us. When I bought it, I barely even knew what it was about. I was like "Oh man, Uncharted + zombies".

And it turned out to be one of my favourite games of all time, along with Final Fantasy VI, Silent Hill 2 and Mass Effect. Its story, characters, music, graphics, ambiance, etc... It all blew my mind.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

Tropical Freeze.... man that was outstanding.

Bioshock Infinite. It's a FPS that I didn't hate and wanted to dump 10 minutes in.
...awesome game, in fact.

Persona 3

I've played a bunch of great games over the past few years, but only Persona 3 left a lasting impression. It was such a refreshing experience, and I remembered being addicted to that game, playing maybe 4-5 hours straight late at night, telling myself "just one more day." It blended two types of genres to create one magnificent game; being a high school student at day & taking classes, participating in activities, hanging out with friends, etc and then being a shadow hunter & dungeon crawling at night was a pretty fun experience.

Also, the music was catchy, and the story & characters were top-notch. But the gameplay was what won me over. I've been wanting to replay it for the longest time, but I don't have that much free time as I used to.

Persona 4 was also great, and it did fix most of the problems Persona 3 had. However, it didn't blew me away since it was similar to Persona 3.

Knack

It's gripping metaphors for societal injustices and the human condition were subtle, yet remarkably powerful & emotionally moving. I don't think there's been anything to make me feel the way Knack made me feel ever.

The most recent example for me is Dragon's Dogma.

Considering Capcom was behind it, I didn't expect it to be anything great, but rather good.

Sure the backtracking can be annoying at times, but everythin else blew me away. Especially the ending. Much more brilliant than, for example, Bioshock: Infinite.

Amen

I have to thank you in part for my enjoyement throughout DD. Xena knew what to do in some cases, which is something I truly apreciated, instead of my moronic pawn looking at the trees

Haha, glad she could be of use

The price point of MGS: Ground Zeroes blew me away from buying it :P
