Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One Japanese Exclusive is “From an Awesome Studio;” Something “Never Seen Before” at TGS

I think MS just wants a presence in Japan, period.

They want Japanese support so they release their machine wherever developers are.

I suspect at this point it'll be because there are still a number of Japanese developers who can appeal to the western market, and they want to appease those as much as they possibly can.

it actually did.

dev's made less money than expected and made them move to handhelds.

Name them devs that went under because of MS in Japan.

I don't understand the logic here.

MS will buy a few Japanese games to move some hardware. I fail to see how that's going to kill the home console industry in Japan. It surely didn't happen last gen.

Yeah, that makes no sense.

Japanese developers are putting a focus on handheld devices simply because that's is where Japanese gamers are.

Not sure if Microsoft is seriously thinking it might gain ground in Japan.

I guess that might work, if supply were not an issue in the states/Europe.

If supply is even somewhat of a small issue, I'd use the supply for Japan to place in Usa/Europe. Makes more sense.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

So MS has new first party studio in Japan called Awesome Studio and their first game is called Never Seen Before? Interesting...

Wouldn't "Never seen before" basically rule out JRPGs? Personally I rather see a classic JRPG from Mistwalker.

This smells like another Vesperia case.
