No reason the game has to cost any exorbitant sum of money. A lot of the money that it took to make Shenmue was because it was technologically advanced for its time. A new Shenmue could easily run on an existing engine, No reason it should cost much more than the average game. 30 million would be a high estimate for the cost.

We are never getting this game. It's time to deal with it like we had to do with Half-Life 3 and The Last Guardian.

neh.. if millions op people played it, it wouldn't have a legendary status like this.. I actually wonder sometime if people are lying that they played this game cause its 15 years old and there were just over a million copies sold..



I'm sure a fair few have watched a walkthrough on youtube and now class that as........ "i have played Shenmue".

And yes, i agree with you, the numbers just don't seem to add up. (apparently MILLIONS of fans, but only a million copies sold)


Remember Dreamcast games were burned smh. Ppl back then borrowed a lot also.

If they are not going to finish the game has he at least written a book? Ive been waiting forever. I played from the beginning and two with the cliffhanger left me ready to finish. Ive been sad ever since

Loved the first game on my Dreamcast but I'm still not one of the guys who really think often about a new game. Would be great to get a new game but if not then I won't really miss it.

But I think like that about pretty much every game which didn't get a new release for a while.

Thats way more shocking than Yakuza. PSO has ahuge following. Its not like its atype of game that doesnt do well outside japan. Its completely mind bending.

Sega's mind bending in general.  I'm sure if they put the efforts into their Sonic titles into other titles, they'd have better selling titles (Than Sonic that is).
