Such a shame that so many millions of people snubbed this LEGENDARY game.

neh.. if millions op people played it, it wouldn't have a legendary status like this.. I actually wonder sometime if people are lying that they played this game cause its 15 years old and there were just over a million copies sold..

I wonder this exact thing sometimes.  There are some highly praised games that I think are terrible ut how much these games are praised when you hear people talking about them, you'd think that a lot more played the games than how much the games sold.

Valkyrie Profile is one.  :O.  Now starting off, the combat of Valklyrie Profile is actuallly excellent.  You use each attack at the correct time to get 100% and use your specials.  When you get it to where characters can attack three times you can change your stragies up so that two characters can hit 100% and kill a single enemy.  The thing is, is that you're doing the exact same button presses at the exact same time over and over and over and over and over and over.  What was  a really good combat system for an extremely short amount of time gets incredibly dull and repetitive.  The idea behind the game is to acquire allies, grind them for experience to learn skills that are needed in Valhalla, and then send them.  The storyline is also pretty bad.  Most of the story being a short minute segment on how someone dies, then you automatically get them on your team, there is some hidden storyline within the game, but you have to go through certain parts of the game in order to get it.  I do like the few platforming bits that are in the game, but there's really only a little of that.  I really think this is a pretty bad game that everyone loves only because they've heard it's a great game.

Another game is Jet Set Radio.  I'm not going to go into any sort of explanation, but Jet Set Radio is garbage imo.

Pains me to say it, but with the Shenmue postmortem now done and dusted, and not even a hint of Shenmue 3 during the postmortem, i think this ship truly has sailed now once and for all

I know we keep hearing that he would like to make it, but he is not getting any younger, and SEGA are terrified of potentially losing millions again. (if ONLY more gamers would have bought a ps2 AND A DAMN DREAMCAST).

Such a shame that so many millions of people snubbed this LEGENDARY game.

Huh? Its actually the opposite. He was asked directly on stage about the game. He smiled and a '....", Now he has a big project.

I'm sure a fair few have watched a walkthrough on youtube and now class that as........ "i have played Shenmue".

And yes, i agree with you, the numbers just don't seem to add up. (apparently MILLIONS of fans, but only a million copies sold)

All we got was the same old response to the question though...... "i would like to make it"

He said the exact same thing at one of the GDC's 3-4 years ago no?

Hey, Shenmue for me is the greatest game of all time, and i would love to see Shenmue 3 happen more than any other videogame ten fold, but Yu Suzuki is in his mid 50's now, so time is fast running out.

SEGA let the lincense to shenmue expire recently. This comes not long after Suzuki he could get the license. From my view everything is coming together.

The licence only expired in a specific region though no?

SEGA still hold the rights (TM, copyright  etc).

Nintendo should fund it.
Shenmue has die hard fans like Bayonetta that would buy a console only for one game.
They need new audiences after the casuals don't care for home consoles anymore.

They just lost the trademark to Shenmue, its time to accept theres neve gonna be a 3rd game.

I have no idea why they just couldn't reskin Yakuza 3, 4 or 5 into Shenmue 3.

Cause we would like a western release.. Are you reading this Sega? Hello? Yakuza 5?

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

It's dead. Time to move on.

Only a small, vocal minority still care about Shenmue. And hypothetially.. lets say they managed to fund, make and release a new Shenmue (today). It would probably tank.
