I am personally torn between my old principles that all games matter and adapting to the masses where people put the "allmighty retail AAA exclusive" above all else, especially indies. So apologies if you see me sway back and forth lol.

you sway back of forth to suit your argument.

Remember yesterday when I named you 2 PS3 games not on XB1 (in reply to the 2 you mentioned which were not on PS3), and you claimed titanfall was bigger so it meant more?

But now you are talking about how smaller games get overlooked... LOL

Well that said both fan groups do that. Only now with PS fans do indie games matter. Funny.

You could say I handle it on a case by case basis. Combining the reality that AAA retail are considered more relevant (I have your kind to thank for that), combined with my love for XBLA.

But the 2 PS3 games I mentioned WERE AAA, not indies (MLB & tales of symphonia).

you 'thank' 'my kind' for everything because that just how 'your kind' is.... blame everyone and everything else except the object of debate for damage control. You think you are doing MS/xbox a favour, but you are doing exactly the opposite.

Hatin' on Crackdown but points out Heavenly Sword as quality.

Yeah.

Heavenly Sword was excellent.

Can't we all just be friends and agree that each company has amazing exclusives? Why always fighting =(

MICROSOFT IS EVIL, AND SAID THAT THEY ARE IN IT TO TAKE SONY OUT OF THE LIVING ROOM(back in 2000)

Buy that logic Sony is evil to they killed SEGA.Anyway I feel the main cause of the disparity between PlayStation and Xbox exclusives is because Sony have had and extra gen in the industry which has given its studios more time to mature and make better games, hopefully Microsoft studios will mature this generation.

Literally no comparison. There is too many great Sony exclusives to name while on Xbox I can hardly name more than 3 or 4.

Sony has a better first party, this is basically axiomatic at this point for me. They try new things all the time, sometimes they score a GOTY (a few times last gen actually), and sometimes they aren't a super great 90+ on Meta, it happens. Frankly, if Sony cared about Metacritic they wouldn't have made some risky games that I enjoyed immensely.

It was okay... I guess.

Final boss was indeed great. Rest of the game, not so much. I enjoyed the small girl's sections MUCH more than Nariko's. And that's troublesome.

It just hurt because you acted like Crackdown was vastly superior. They are pretty similar in a lot of ways in terms of their critical and commerical reception, so I can't see the argument. I dislike open world games, so obviously I'm not a fan of Crackdown.

It was an interesting proposition, which from then derived superb quality games like Infamous.

Heavenly Sword was a run of the mill hack n' slash with an amazing facial animation system; at least, that's what it felt to me. Not hatin' on Heavenly Sword either, I liked it.

With how similar both consoles are in so many ways and how both consoles seem to get 90% of the same games it's always striked me as odd how there is such a drastic difference in quality and amount of excluisves between the Playstation and the Xbox.

It's not even the case that it's Japan's involvement that's what's doing it because even without them it'd still be the same.

The PS3 saw several exclusive games win many notable GOTY awards. MGS4, Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet, The Last of Us, Journey for example. That can not really be said for Xbox. Sure there was a time when Mass Effect 2 and maybe Bioshock recieved such acclaim but they ended up on PS3 aswell.

Three PS3 exclusives won GOTY on Gamespot but none for Xbox. The same can be said for IGN. This is the case amongst both the editors picks and the readers picks with the one exception that Gears of War did win.

Compare the PS360 metacritic scores.

There are 12 games for PS3 that scored over 90 not including HD collections. Xbox only has 7. If I were to include the games over 80 it'd be even bigger.

Also the huge amount of variety compared to the Xbox is staggering.

Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, Yakuza, Infamous, Killzone, Ni No Kuni, Tales etc

Xbox has had some but most never catch on like Crackdown.

I just it pretty odd seeing as how Xbox is just as popular and it's been around so long now.

It's the target market.

The Playstation is mainly for Europe and Japan, where as the Xbox is for America. Sure, both make money, but American kids on the whole prefer action based games with less story and characters compared to what the rest of the world would like.

Microsoft is only focused on games that sell which isn't always bad but shows that they are not creative in the slightest. It also keeps them from having new IP's and taking risks. Sony keeps the titles that sell well amd keep trying to make more every gen. That and when they try to make new IP's themselves they mostly fail.
