Forums - Nintendo - Will Wii U still get multi gamepad support?

Well, i just saw this new rumor:

A gamepad is listed, so you have it. Plus, we have a game like Chase Mii listed too, and that game used the gamepad a lot on nintendo land, correct?

But rebbelion alreadly confirmed that sniper elite 3 is not coming to wiiu, so be advised.

interesting, maybe they could be just replacement pads or nothing at all.

I don't think Nintendo wants $100+ WiiU controllers on store shelves, that could dissuade people from purchasing a WiiU if the controllers look so expensive. Especially parents who might need to buy multiple controllers for their kids. It's probably best to just use the Wiimote for multiplayer games.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Great. I would totally buy  Art Academy for 9,999 euros/dollars!

Probably not at this point. They could just save 4+ gamepad support as their next console's gimmick.

nope.

Had it sold well, then it would be implemented, but at this point, its just not going to happen.

Next system will have something similar I'd think.

It was something we really wanted back when we assumed there would be a lot of awesome uses for the gamepad. Now we just want some more uses for the one, so I don't think it's going to happen.

Man, remember back then? When everything looked great and the sky was the limit? Good times...

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9

I believe Iwata talked about it a lt back in the January meeting. So there is a big chance, but with the games announced so far, which games would benefit? Maybe MK, and more probably, whenever it's announced, Mario Party...

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

6 players on mario kart.
card games! yuggi yoh, pokemon card game, magic.
a multiplayer platform game where one gamepad trolls the players, and other try to help. and see the caos happening.

although, i would not buy a second gamepad , because one of my friends would bring his gamepad when we play the wii U together.

"With regards to the two GamePads functionality, from a gaming system standpoint we are developing games that will have that capability," Miyamoto said. "In the future, perhaps when we get closer to something that, an environment where everybody or a large majority of people would have two GamePads, that might be a time where we look at how we can leverage a system of that nature." So... never!

Not gonna happen. Really, it doesn't matter to me if they do or not at this point. In my home, local multi-player is rapidly dying.
