I don't think that's how stocks work anyways. If they're posting losses every year then that will kill their market cap which will in turn make them a smaller company.

I believe its not stock, but actual money in the bank aka its cash reserves. It doesnt get underapreciatded in accordance to their performance.

That includes salaries and bills?

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Only problem is that they would get bought out long before 2052 if they started making losses.

Bought out by whom?  Didn't you see they are already buying back their own shares?

Could be anyone. Microsoft, Apple, Google or maybe even a rich Nintendo fanboy, who knows.

If they are buying back their own shares that makes the job easier for potential buyers, more shares in one place.

That assumes Nintendo would sell them.   If Nintendo owns enough shares, they can go independent again.  Meaning no possiblity for buyout.  A company doesn't buy back their own shares if they plan on selling to someone else because they'd lose money.

Besides, if a rich Nintendo fanboy can buy them out, doesn't that just reason that they could buy theirselves out and become a private company again?

I just care about games, good games, mario and zelda games... and if I can have them exclusively until 2052 I will be very happy.

Yeah you're right they would be much harder to buy if they own all their shares and if they are doing well. However if they are regularly losing money then the owner is more likely to sell if a good offer comes along.

Possibly.  But this is all a hypothetical anyway.  It's just to show that they have enough liquid funds to carry on for a long time to come even if things don't turn around.  Which they will.  After all, they just posted profits last quarter: $212 million operating income and $94 million net income.  And that's just a quarter.

Money static in a bank won't save them from flops like the last games.
