Yeah you're right they would be much harder to buy if they own all their shares and if they are doing well. However if they are regularly losing money then the owner is more likely to sell if a good offer comes along.

Possibly. But this is all a hypothetical anyway. It's just to show that they have enough liquid funds to carry on for a long time to come even if things don't turn around. Which they will. After all, they just posted profits last quarter: $212 million operating income and $94 million net income. And that's just a quarter.
