Forums - Gaming - EA secures rights to Titanfall 2

Electronic Arts has secured sequel rights for Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer shooter Titanfall, a reputable source has informed GameSpot.

The option to land Titanfall 2 was based on the performance of the original, our source said. Official sales data is not available, but from what we're hearing, Titanfall has performed well and even helped boost Xbox One sales. Wealready know that's true in the UK.

We've reached out to Electronic Arts for comment, but have not heard back at press time.

The original Titanfall is available only on Xbox and PC platforms. Terms of EA's agreement to publish Titanfall 2 are not clear, so we don't know yet if PlayStation and/or Nintendo fans will get a crack at the rumored next game in the series.

EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said previously that he is "sure" that potential sequels to Titanfall could come to PlayStation and/or Nintendo platforms.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I thought EA owned already the rights of the franchise, pretty surprised to read that now.

Crap. You beat me!

Screw PC and consoles. Titanfall 2 should be a mobile exclusive! EA would make money hand over fist!

-BAHAHAHAHAHAHA-

By the time Titanfall 2 releases in 2015, there is no reason at all why it cant be a launch title for the next Nintendo system.

By the time Titanfall 2 releases in 2016, there is no reason at all why it cant be a ported on the next Nintendo system one year late.

This version sounds more realistic.
