Why would anyone make a "public announcement" about something like that? That doesn't make much sense. Usually, publishers want everyone to think all versions are equal. It's not even like it matters that much, given the shared architecture.

As far as digital sales go, we already knew that. Sony started to heavily push digital at the end of last generation, especially at launch.

Its nearing double X1 sales, the dev can plainly see whats happening in Europe and in the whole wide world.

All developers will be jumping on PS4 as lead platform.

Why would PS4 being lead dev platform have any effect on the masses? Actually, with how similar both systems are, why would anyone care? I could see timed exclusive PS4 DLC being a big deal, but he already said M$ probably has that locked down for years.

Cute analogy though being right about something that took an inside source to know when no one was questioning it creates a more complicated scenario than a broken clock. I just remember the same "they're liars being paid by Sony" comments being made over that whole mess or the time Sony fans called them liars for saying Driveclub was delayed before the news broke. It's not that these guys have no credibility. It's that they have enough to make what they say suddenly a very possible scenario that many people didn't think would happen and that makes some of them feel very insecure. So they demonize them.

I have been buying all my ps4 games digitally except for battlefield.. Just recently preordered infamous off of psn while waiting for dark souls 2 to download. Main reason for doing this though is the increased EU game prices. I finally made a US psn account to get games for nearly half the price compared to EU psn and retail. I will propably never go back. All the ps4 owners i know here in denmark uses the same trick. I think digital sales have risen a lot more than expected because of EU players doing this. It should only increase as the trick becomes more common knowledge.

Off topic, but just out of curiosity, if you do this, and you play a multiplayer game, does it put you on US servers instead of EU servers, resulting in long ping times?  Or is it smart enough to know where you are and connect you to the fastest servers?
